BOINC benchmark: post results

Prior installation of XP64, and intalled Boinc, only after drivers, RAN CPU BENCH and scored this.....

I posted these numbers with XSOS V1.0.....throttling back to 3.4ghz gets me 3574/7740 or so. remind me of the differences between V1.0 and V2.0....

Good numbers..I can't get near that..water or air?

Water temps never hit 50C

Reason I posted was because my DFI x38 board just showed up, and will be switching out to that come mid next week when my graphics cards get here. I am curious at clock for clock what intel vs. nvidia means on a boinc benchmark.

X38 seems to scale quad better than 680i for the most part, so am hoping for the promised land a 4GHZ stable WCG quad core.

I would think that Server 2008 has a lot of baggage associated with it being a Vista flavor Microsoft server program. Linux is lean and mean.

Yes but I was told the 64 bit Windows O/S would put out more points a day than Linux is why I am running it and it appears to be true....

I don't think they ever fully sorted the compiler issue. From memory the windows compilers they use tend to combine sections of the benchmarking routines, effectively giving a higher score than the same equipment on linux. The 'nix compilers are, less aggressive I suppose, and return binaries that are closer to the original intent but give a comparatively (slightly) lower benchmark score. From my experience, however, the linux clients return more work. Slightly.
Based on that, if the points are more important to you than the work, use winblows. If you're in it to help cure cancer etc, use linux.
That's just my opinion, make up your own minds.

I was just taking advice from people here, it does not matter to me I still have Linux on the same drive, its dual boot now with server 2008. I have Linux on all my rigs for FAH SMP...
