Hard to say just give it a try and see what happens. Use only 1 dimm, that might help. And yes after cmos clear vdimm wil be back to default. I use XMS2 rated 2.1v and had trouble getting it up and running but not sure if it was the ram itself or the fact me board wil not run at anything under 401 FSB. I ended up using a no name dimm to set vdimm though.
some first impressions :

nice made board but with serious onboardsound flaws .
onboardsound "soundmaxhd " drivers are crap in every incarnation (4570 included)
I reinstalled them 3 times .
I use a skystar dvbs/ pci card . Changing channels I get a cpu load of 22% , changing to another channel cpu load is 2 % and so on.
using "sysinternals", a very good and free (!) processexplorer shows :
everytime when the cpu load hits these high numbers its a microsofts kernel driver "kmixer.sys " (microsoftmixer) that kicks in .
a microsoft hotfix changed nothing.
disabling onboardhdsound and everything gets normal .
there are a lot of posts in asus boards as well where people got strange behaviour and bsods related to the soundmaxhddrivers in games , audioapps and using WMC .
the dvb/s card has the same IRQ as the onboard sound
changing the slot to no avail
getting support from asus ...

If you have problems getting your board to boot do waht I did and just go to best buy and buy some generic 1.8V kingston RAM. It's expensive for what it is BUT you can take it back after booting and updating BIOS. I got all my money back and got my board to boot up. :)
one fast and easy chipset cooling solution: two-sided tape and Celeron'466 fan sit to MB right side off the NB.

next step would be making the paper air-tube to make full wind go through the fins of the NB's cooling.
might not be THAT effective as bying the special NB cooling, but quick and fast. and no need to remove default one from board :)
Still fighting to run board over 430 FSB.. it just don't want to.. no matter what I try :( Voltages, timings.. nothing helps... nothing... ;(
Board revision: 1.03g, Micron RAM working fine @ 1200 Mhz (5-5-5-18, 2.1v) etc.
BIOS: 0609
"Jumping" over to 450+ does not help - tried from 450 to 550 in 10 Mhz step :)
Any ideas ?
I get the same thing with my E6400 / P5B Deluxe system, only my problem occurs at exactly 435Mhz FSB. :(Quote:

Yes, its an involved procedure, but it does save having to find the reset CMOS jumper :)
I haven't used the clear cmos jumper in an asus mb and when i did it was the last thing to do before deciding than something else is fault or it needs rma... ;)Quote:

Whenever my boot fails or I get a lock up I need only power off, flick PSU switch and wait for the asus light to go off (basically means power has officially been cut), reboot. It will tell me that I have inserted a new CPU most times and to press F1 to enter BIOS or F2 to set BIOS to default values. If you press F1 and go into BIOS all your settings are still there and you can change them back to whatever from there. Saves a lot of time. I've never had to multiply reboot or keep flipping the PSU switch.
hell with the methods to clear o/c settnings - I dont really care :) I want my mobo to o/c for some over 435. nothing else. I would've been agreed to wait one hour to system startup, if it would be at @ 436 stable...
I set my DFI 975 mobo aside for awhile until they get the bios sorted out. I picked up the P5B to make sure the Gskill and the Team Group 2gig sets I picked up would live up to the hype. Because of fsb limitiations on every divider on the DFI I had a feeking I hadn't seen their potential.
So after a couple of days with the P5B I finally got around to pushing it and its been a lot of fun, but there's been some head scratching as well. First the good news: With the 2:3 (800) divider it can really make my sticks fly, with the Team Groups edging out the Gskill:

The 4:5 divider on the 507 bios is just a mess though. I can't get it to work much beyond <300 fsb. I believe its suppose to be fixed on the beta bios, and I'll try it soon.
1:1 works great and I can run it up until temp and voltage become worrysome. I have a water loop I'm prepping right now. I plan to pop the northbridge and mosfet cooler off, then bend the NB cooler up so its out of the way of the NB water block, then pop it back on. As long as I don't pinch the tube I think it'll work fine.
Performance on 32m at 1:1 with another 300mhz for the CPU, (but with a lot less memory speed) doesn't net me a better score, just more volts and heat. :(

Maybe once I get my water cooling on, I can push the 1:1 fsb up and start tappping into the memory performance again.
gundamnit, what is that program you are using for the temps and voltages called?
