I am guessing that IF the 1.85v has worked for some, that the voltage controller for the vmch is somehow a different rev hardware version than that on the boards above that still only see 1.65v.

Its soldered at both ends, you need to make a graphite path from one end (of the solder), across the top to the other bit of solder. And don't blow any graphite dust on the board, not a good idea.Quote:

*supposedly 0801 is compatible with ALL Core 2 Duo processors, but if you want the beta revision 0901 (as of 8/9/06), specify that here

My pencil mod works well on mch. I used 2B pencil, and up to 1,77v.Quote:

Its not a good idea to take the gunk of it? becuase if you apply AS/thermal gunk it wont fit again?
Can I take it off and apply Arctic Silver 5 to the chip on the NB and re-use thise on the radiator thing?
Im sure when I done the Southbridge it was on firmer and thats why it seems a bit loser? should I apply thicker amounts?
EDIT:
Gonna leave the gunk on the mossfets cos they dont get to hot, but i'll apply thicker amount to the nb/sb heatsinks.. oh and lose those gay covers too.
Well I just done it all and Im very pleased to announce my temps are now 40c motherboard and 29c cpu. Muuuch better than 54c board, thanks for the guide.
Edit:
Oh screw it I spoke to soon, the temp has gone in to the red again with pc probe...
Whats a good temp to set pc probe alarm at for the motherboard temp?
It gets to 45c and goes into the red and gives me warnings.
Its at 51c now... christ I give up.
Can someone tell me what causes the heat, the south or northbridge?
And is that temp a combined reading ie 50c = 25c N and 25c S bridges??
Mobo temp is related to southbridge but northbridge is the hottestQuote:

:)
how did you attach you heatsink, I am thinking about clipping the asus cooler, leaving the power cooling part of the system with the included fan and adding a water block to the northbridge, just have not seen a good way to connect it, as I will not be on a bench, but in a case.
So need to hold it down, was thinking of using arctic silver ceramique, the heat epoxy stuff I used on the ram sinks for my video card, any other ideas out there?
this NB cooler is chip with retention clips which fit perfectly over the P5w dh NB :)
it is the coolermaster "blue ice" ( didn't want to wait for extreme spirit 2 )
