Anyone got any suggestions for a cooler that is near stock size?
Reason is I have a Coolermaster Stacker 830 case which is a big case but due to the 4 side fans that cool the motherboard it cant take a big Heatsink as one of the side fans is directly above it (for example with my current scythe mine it cant fit without the fan above the CPU being removed). Also it has to be a heatsink without a backplate as my motherboard is a Gigabyte DQ6 and dont want to remove its built in cooling backplate.
Maybe the OCZ Tempest ? I just ordered one.Quote:

Does anyone know how loud the TTBT fan is at full speed? I'd sacrafice a degree or 2 and get the Ninja if the TTBT is loud.
stockj bigtyphoon fan sucks ... only 39CFM at 12v .. i replace it with a silverstone 110CFM, and i saw a 6c drop in temperature ... all i did was replacing it with a silverstone 120mm fan and boom! 6c is gone just like that

no at 2250rpm(maximum speeD) its really really really loud, but at 2000rpm (idle temp is like 37,38 now) its accptably loud
someone was recommending the CNPS 7700 because they said that these big HSFs keep your cpu "frosty cool," but don't cool your voltage regulators. Is that FUD or what?
Well, I plan on spending about $20-$30 for my HSF. I can get the Ninja for $20 after coupon on Amazon, and the TT BT for $25 after coupon. I'd like something to help with the overclocks, but noise level is very important.

Checked that looks good but no one in the UK sells it. They all sell the SI-120 and the conversion kit instead, and what does the conversion kit use - yup a backplate.Quote:

Nope most tests are done outside of a case which does negate the usefulness of the tests to a degree but then again which case would you choose a bog standard one with no cooling flow onto the motherboard or something like a stacker 830. Problem I have is I have a stacker 830 and the fan plate that has 4 120mm fans on it that sits above the motherboard stops the installation of the large heatsinks. Although I can remove the fan in the fan plate that is directly above the cpu and then a large heatsink fits but given the fan that has to be removed is one of the most important fans I would prefer to keep it, it means I am forced to use a smaller heatsink.Quote:

After using the Evercool WC-601 Silver Knight for 1/2 a year could you provide feedback if it is worth buying it or should I look for something else!
