I started out in last two slots so I don't have a comparison but I have gotten decent results with them in the last two.:)Quote:

I hope I understand this correctly :D
Everything works well, except the ACPI will require win reinstall to work (as stated before, upgrading from too old bios...) and power led from mainboard won't lit on me :p: So the hardware Always on state after power failure won't work for me now, trying now the weird "power strap" settings - no idea what this can be, but I hope it kick the machine on as I apply power :D
And markr, your 275Mhz result is pretty f*cking amazing
I'm affraid I have to settle for much less with my rams, tough. 230x11 seems working well, maybe I should push them a little more? :stick:
My first little tries :p:

How to set the PLL stability control thing remains, however, a mystery for me  260 won't like to boot, tough...
BTW, CPU-Z seems to measuring the Vcore just right, after settings the "VCore=1" into CPUZ ini file... ;)
Seems to me like the shipping bio is still the best one...
i nailed 335fsb on it and it was good with BH and infineon... i never tried with TCCD or UCCC though.
Since you are using Redline, I would tighten up my timings and run my memory at around 200mhz, you will probably get better results.Quote:

There's no good answer for that I'm afraid. Some people have had good luck with the modded bios, but it seems many of us are back to the original. :fact:Quote:

It seems it can now read the memory VTT setting in the boards tab.
In the system clocks tab they've removed the AGP settings and all board related clocks relating to graphic cards (pci-e is still there).
In the system information tab they've added a button to write all the readouts to a textfile.
Anyone got any tips on how to reach over 330htt besides dropping the multipliers? My board seems to be maxing out at 320htt or so. I need 333htt to reach 3ghz on my 165. Thanks.
great :toast:Quote:

WoW :p: Thumbs up for SB450 then :DQuote:
The ATI SB450 proved to be the only currently available chipset that produced repeatable results on all platforms when utilizing the IPEAK WinTrace32 program.
Raybo - using OCZ ram's, not Mushkin Redline, mate ;) And 216Mhz at 2-3-2-5 give with them a little worser results that 2,5-3-3-6 with 233Mhz, so... ;)
situman - I wish I get as high... :stick: 300 is not enought for you? I mean 300 x 10 = 3Ghz? ;)

Simple question, guys.
Witch PCI slot is better (eg. not IRQ shared?) on the Grouper for installing a demanding soundcard (eg. X-Fi Fatal1ty)
On DFI LP B I used the second from bottom, not sure witch one on Grouper :p:
PS. I have disabled SATA, onboard sound and onboard FireWire :p:
Come on, guys :p You must have the files in windows directory somewhere - I wish I can extract them from the cab's, but I can't :(
So, a little help with the usbehci.sys and usbohci.sys files for Grouper, pls?
Send there: trodas@gmail.com - thx :p:
I got all other things working already on W2k SP2 - it is just the USB... ;)
Come on, guys, a little help with the files, pls?
The USB ports on the back of the board is not always on for some reason. USB drivers are fine I will try and reinstall them if problem continus. My system is clocked at the moment -see sig.
Anyone having the same issue?
I still need a bios chip w/ an official bios for my expired 480.
Anyone have one they can sell me?
:stick:
Raybo - I think that most of the bioses chips are compatible and you can use a chip from dead mobo with flashed in Bios Saviour the Sapphire bios ;)
BTW, how to make SpeedFan work - start with /NOSMBSCAN option and it does work just fine!
You lose the ability to tweak fan speeds, but that it is.
And I did not use ANY fan, so, all is okay with me :D
Could I try the read report, hehe? ;)
PS. I stumbled upon another PATA issue with this nice nice Grouper A9RX480 board. Apart from the IDE 100MB Zip drive being used as PIO 3 device and therefore won't work unless you set in bios PIO 0, I mean.
I tried to backup my windows partion. Used latest DOS DriveImage (now owned by Symatec under new name it is...) and it always crash, hang (once reseting my bios settings?!?!?) and never finished w/o errors the image backup. I use main Maxtor 250G ATA133 and backup drive is slave 80G Seagate ATA100 one. I maked the backup work only by setting both UDMA for these drives as off, and PIO 4 for my Maxtor + PIO 3 for my Seagate +disabled completely the first Use DMA IDE transfer access option...
Then the backup go EXTREMLY slowly (many curses for the stupid, stupid stupid bios programmers, grrrr!) but it does finish.
Be aware of this problem :(
I am trying to measure Vcore on my grouper. And by a tip from an XS user I a on the track ;)
Bios says: 1.6-1.61V
Bios is set to: 1.6V
http://kirkedam.mine.nu/kwk/Data/Hov.../PICT1513.jpeg
On this Capaciator I measured 1.66V, ground as ref.
Then I decreased the voltage by 0,06 and measured again and got 1.617V.
I really think this is a veryfied Vcore measure pin. If it is then check your vcore because 1.66V on a 165@Water is to much, period.
ive red through this thread and i want one! :)
is it still worth buying? i like the easy coling of the NB and the mosfets, and that it has more than 1 pci unlike the 580 board. and ofcourse all the oc options. and that its rock solid! and the excellent support on this forum...:D
or do you recomend me to get the 580board? i dont need sli\cx btw
maybe i cant get one used from someone switching to 580\am2 or something?
330+htt would be nice to max my 165...
I don't use mine anymore ... ;)Quote:

Raybo, you still need that chip? My board is gone due to moving error, still has a perfectly good BIOS on it. PM me an address and I'll see how many stamps it'll take on the envelope.
PM sent
Hmmm, that remind me, how DFI support rules compared to Sapphire. I got one bios chip free of charge from DFI europe, because I accidentialy clicked on "load" into the bios OC profiles menu and there was not anything saved before, so it loaded rubbish and mobo refused to work anymore... Bios exchange cure it ;)
Raybo, YGPM.

Guys, I just wonder - anyone having such terrible USB issues as I do?
I mean - I can't reliably use neither front USB port for USB drive, nor my floppy+CD/SD cards reader for my camera... It worked but just for a while and then I inserted USB drive today and machine just freeze :(
I just wanted to say that I opened a small collection of ATM four bioses (known to me) for the Pure Innovation A9FX480 "Grouper" mobo there:
http://ax2.old-cans.com/grouper/
So if anyone got a bios not listed there, please submit them to my email, I will add them there, thanks ;)
Thank you I still use the board :)
