the chip is worth more than retail CPUs if it can do the speeds you say it does at OCCT or equivalent.....if I was buying another one I would fork out more for a guaranteed performance....i paid AUD$30 more than retail cost in Australia to get my 3000+ Venice which does 2.8GHz but I have piece of mind now.....good luck with your sale :up:

DPMW chips seem to perform pretty good as well. I'm gonna see what mine can do at more voltage (>1.45v gets too hot atm) when I get my cooling tomorrow :)

No luck today on the 0517 hunt. Just found some 0520's :(
I would pay around 230 for a pre tested 3200+ chip simply because that's what you would pay at a retail store if you went in and handpicked it yourself. Most the major retail stores I went today 3000+ were 179.99 and 3200+ 229.99 :slap:
200$ is reasonable for a 3200 that has the potential to run stable at 2800Mhz 1:1 ratio. i thought week 20th is pretty for ocing. i'm going to check a local mom/pop pc store here soon to see if they have week 15 or 17.
I posted my initial OC with my 3200+ 0517 GPBW a few pages back. It took about 1.55v to be Super-Pi 1M / 32M stable @ 270x10 (1:1 mem). I've just completed the 1st stage of my burn-in and now have the chip Super-Pi / Gaming-stable @ 1.48v (same clocks). It is Prime stable @ 1.50v
I'm going to do another 12 hours burning-in at the current voltage, then drop it a notch and try another 12 hours. I'm hoping to get it stable at a lower voltage and then get 2.8Ghz out of it. :)
P.S. anyone know how my Super-Pi 1M time (30.9 seconds) compares to others at similar clocks? Is it good, bad or average? Thanks.

thanx Absolute! I will run Prime overnight but I do know that it is stable for at least 12hrs. I was resolved some ram issues I was running OCZ Gold not the VX but it was BH-5 and I had to RMA them. I went to my local PC Club and picked up some OCZ Platinum 3200 rev.1 (model# in my sig) and come to find out that they were crap for oc'in. Well I decided to pull off the heatspreader just to see what chips they were and come to find out they were BH-5 or CH-5. So I then just put some more volts to them and pow they are right where my Golds were. So I am very happy for what I have right now! I did order some Mushkin XP4000 it should be here on Tuesday. Not a bad system for running on air (especially in arizona its 115 today)!!!!!

just wanted to drop in again and report on my week 19 EPKW I got thursday from newegg. I am stable at 2.75 (1.6v) with it so far under water. (probably best it will do)
I am finding it rather sad though that my ocz plat rev2 cant do even 270fsb 2.5-3-3-7

I was going to ask what the point of that last post was...but then I saw that they were arranged chronilogically by CPU name/stepping.

Oh sorry Absolute_0 I didnt know to but I posted it on #924 I just didnt run Prime95 yet so I let it run all day while I was at work. And yes it was at 2.93GHz I was going for 3GHz tonight. Do you need my CPU-Z shot again? Or is it that you need both of them in the same shot to prove that I ran that speed. If so I'll run it again tonight and take a ss whith them both in it.
I dont know how good these scores are in sandra but I raised my oc to 2.95GHz. HTT at 328 SuperPi is still 29s though.
Nice results guys, So far I've gotten my +3200 to 2900mhz pushing for more only using 1.5vcore but I'm having a problem with it shuttinf down might pick up a ocz powersupply tomorrow 450 or 520watts, I have a thermaltake 48watt right now, just it has low amps on the 12volt rail, I think the psu is at fault because the computer totally shuts off if i apply to much vcore even if its underclocked and I have to use the swtich on the psu to get it to turn back on. With 1.60 or 1.65 volts i'm hoping for 3ghz stable on air.
Check out this screeny I can get to about 3150mhz but any load casue reboot 3ghz is pretty windows idle happy.

damn 4rory, good clocks! i thought you were having problems with the memory? You said that you could only get good clocks running a big divider and with 1 dimm, is that what you're doing or did you get that issue sorted out?
Meh memory does 275ish, I solved the memory issue on the neo2.
I getting high temp readings but my probe on heatsink base reads alot lower, But my main problem is i'm just having those power issues or so I think, If I can pin it on the psu tonight before 12pm (got to sleep work tomorrow) i'll pick up an ocz psu, do you think a 450w ocz is better will be ok over my 480thermaltake, dont want to end up in the same situation or should I go higher, and modstream or powerstream is it really worth it?
If I can get more vcore to it stable, I could easily get it to 3ghz. From 2.8 to 2.9 was just 50mv so yeah just tring find out whats causing shutdowns, wish I had a cheap less power hungry videocard I could just swap out for a simple test. Anyone got any Idea's that would point at the psu lacking in power on the 12volt?
well i had the same memory issues with the neo2, i was completely unstable past 2,75ghz no matter the voltage. So what did you do to fix it?
A better PSU should help. Powerstream is better than modstreams, and they have adjustable rails. Get something that's got a huge 12V rail...
I modded this psu to get 12.40 on the 12volt and the 3.3volt is at 3.5v and 5.25v on the 5volt. I think I only have 18amps on the 12volt :rolleyes: I got a 9800pro and lots of fans and lights lol and a raptor drive.
Well I haven't been able to get my memory stable higher then 275, 280 is like the limit even loosening timings from 2.5-3-3-7 to 3-4-4-8 nets me more or less nothing I have ocz rev.2 with tcc5 and 2.65 is only good voltage anything else is +errors. with 2t I get 2mhz more or so, its weird I gave up on the memory for now. I'm trying to psuh this cpu since cpu speed makes a way bigger difference, I was wondering if anyone here was getting good result with burn-in? maybe it's worth a try for me if I can't get higher vcore to work right.
I'm getting good results with burn in. 2.86 Ghz used to take 1.58volts to run prime95 for hours and now i'm doing it with 1.56. I want to work down to 1.55 or so.
What and how exaclty are you doing it, I don't have vcore adjustments that fine. How long did those results take?
hmm, i did a few runs probably totaling 15 hours. Now i'm "finalizing" it by running Prime95 at the reduced voltage.
Take your highest stable settings, that is, where you've got high clocks but high Vcore, and lower the voltage 1 notch in the bios. Windows should be stable enough to work normally, it will only error out in games, prime95, benching, etc. Run a program called CPU Burn In with error checking disabled. That way the program will continue to run at 100% load even if it gets errors. Eventually the CPU will "adjust" to the lower voltage.
Hmm, sounds like it's worth a shot, I try it soon, once I can deal with the sound of this computer or figure something out, Anyways gtg to sleep.

Blackjok3r, that sounds more like a crash, I have to reset the switch on my psu or there is no way I can get my computer to boot back up to I'm guessing that, that psu's overload protections is kicking in.
my poor 3000+BP 0516EPBW can only overclock to 2500MHz with stock voltage, 2600MHz with adding 0.8v.
what the heck! it can't met 2700MHz even with 1.6v. I don't like adding too high voltage.

Just make sure you don't get anything that isn't CBBLE 0504/0512 (good luck finding them ;)) and LBBLE 0515/0517, especially if it'll be your fourth(!) venice.
I guess I got lucky, seeing how I got a nice one on the first try, online order.

Hey guys what is the fastest 1m super pi out there. I was just wondering cuz I have been playing with some ram timings and mine just seems to get faster and faster. Right now I am at 29.232 or something like that. I'm not home so I cant remember. I thought I saw someone with 28.??. If so how did he get it that fast?

Ambient temp in my room was maybe 20 degrees or so... nice and cold in the sumer heat :)
Cooling was Zalman 7000ALCU
I can do SuperPI 32MB all the way upto 300x9 on stock volts, but for the prime I needed to raise the volts alittle

Well, truth is that you've got a LONG way to go, and are nowhere near the fastest 1M time out there, which (without looking it up) is less then 20 seconds. Personally I'm at 28s with my Venice in my sig, but haven't had time to fine-tune anything yet.Quote:

I got it at cbit computers, I know a few of the guys who work there, so they just don't question me and let me do what I want pretty much

Summer time on air, I'm sure it's not the ceiling, but it is completely stable. LBBLE 0516 EPMW 3200+ 2873Mhz @ 1.66v according to CPU-Z, 1.625v according to BIOS. Have done 2.9 prime torture/belnd overnight at 1.725vcore, but that won't be functionally stable until winter.

My chip could probably do 2900 with proper cooling (and by that I mean proper less-extreme-than-phase-cooling), it still gets too hot at 1.6+ volts.
2810 @ 1.456v seems to be 24/7 stable.
30C idle, 42C load, 26-28C ambient :toast:
Right now i'm trying to push 2.88 Ghz with 1.58-1.6 volts, CPUZ hovers around those readsings. It's been running for almost a half hour now, i'll update with how it ends, probably needs more volts to be fully stable at this speed... i'm guessing 1.65 volts would easily keep it stable at 2.9 Ghz though.
Yep, almost half an hour and failed. Needs more volts captain! But temps are getting too high. Planning to WC and then i can push 1.7 volts through this thing, that'd stabilize it pretty high.

I was just wondering---I am at 2.9GHz on air and my temps never go over 45c if I was on water would it really make that much of a difference? I also wanted to know my stepping is LBBLE 0516GPBW and I dont see to many of these out there. Were these not that good cuz mine is doing really well or is it just luck of the draw..... What kind of voltage are you putting into that chip, njkid32? Those are pretty good temps. Try 1.6+ volts and see what your max CPU speed is, stable of course.
And about the water, if the AC helped then water certainly will. Water is most helpful for high voltage though, i just dont want to run 1.7V on air but with water its no problem and temps don't become insane.
Hey Absolute_0, I am running 1.65v to it right now. I have had it to 3GHz but I was afraid to put to many volts to it. I have put 1.75 and it didnt seem to like it though cuz it crashed right away. I was surprised with the Big Typhoon my temps under load didnt go over 45c. Like right now I am running a ton of stuff and its only at 34c. Not bad! I have been reading this thread from OC Forums and its pretty good. So it looks like I am going to go with this setup from www.DangerDen.com. Also have you seen much of my chip out there cuz I havent?

I didn't know you were putting that many volts into it, but your temps are so low it seems safe to me.
Watercooling wouldn't hurt, 3 Ghz 24/7 is about as good as it gets.

Chip: Venice 3000+ LBBLE 0517BPCW
Mobo: Dfi Lf nf4 ultra-d
Ram: Ocz Premier 2 x 512 dual channel
Stable: 9 x 290 = 2.61 ghz
reaches: 9 x 305 = 2.754 ghz
All of this is on stock cooling, so i don't think it is too bad. I'm pretty satisfied with the results :).

finally got a week 3200 venice. week 19, what a surprise. code is lbble 0519bpew. it's a retail chip. bought it locally, but couldn't handpick. 2800Mhz stable on air with an xp-120. vcore had to be pumped up to 1.6. also running on a divider :(. i just don't like divider. i'll figure out how to use imageshack and will post some pics.
