No you will have to Vmod it or get an OCZ booster. :)Quote:

oh but must include this the dfi board i have started the fan and went into loading windows mode and turned the fan off and almost burned my chip up 3 different times just glad i had a 120 on a molex connector. has happened to me with 92mm panaflow with 3 pin conector. the panaflow has been in both the cpu slot and chassis fan slot and it happened both times chip gets up to 70 C and shuts off (thank god i set it to something).

what is max "safe voltage" for venice, if you are using air/water/phase-change cooling?
There is no such thing as a "max safe voltage". Usually, electronic devices are made to work at about 80% of their "no more safe zone". The higher voltage you will push in a chip, the less longer it will work. I would say the max you could put depend of what you 're feeling comfortable with it and the temp associated with the voltage rise.
General convention seems to be about 1.55V good air, 1.65V water and ^1.75V phase.... but hey some ppl are running near 2V in them :D
I run my computer 15hours/day so, i don't want that cpu will be dead after couple months because too high voltage. If cpu holds atleast 18months (overclocked, overvoltaged), thats good for me :)Quote:

just picked up a OEM 3200 venice 0521DPMW will post results once i get her installed. hope to see 3000mhz plus using this single stage phase change unit...

AMD 64 3200+ lbble 0519 is good OCer?
10*300??
I've seen some decent week 19's but nothing super good

No cpus are the same, so you won't know until you try it if you got a good one or not. :fact: You can increase your luck going with a week that is known to have good cpus, but some can be really bad also. Good luck :)
I have a qustion for you guys.. Im getting a 3500+ venice next week. Its a 0519. I wanted to know if this is a good clocker and if one of you gys has any experience with this week. Also I wanted to know what will be a good aircooler for my cpu:
Coolermaster Hyper 48
Coolermaster Hyper 6
Thermalright XP-90
thermalright XP-120(but does this one fit a MSI K8N Neo2 or dfi ultra d(nforce3))

YOu can also add the ThermalTake BigTyphoon on that list.Mny people and reviews claim that it is hard to beat
And Scythe Ninja can be added to the listQuote:

afaik, yes.
Thx mate btw. I finally got my cpu. After some quick testing i was able to do 2.7Ghz prime stabel.. But the 12 V line was dropping to 11.4 every time it was beched. So i can go higher with my own psu i think.

how are these new chips clocking? I still using an old 1700+ :D but i need to upgrade to something a little quicker. Should I expect 2.8ghz 24/7 aircooled out of a 3000+ E6 venice? I'd probably get it from newegg. hah a 1ghz overclock ;) just like this old 1700+
Hello!! What Can you tell me about this Stepping ? 3800+ Venice
ada3800aa4BP
lbble 0524 EPMW
z707522f50961
Thanks!!!
have in mind to buy wether a P M 740 or an A64 rig....
could you help me make my mind
So i've chosen a 3000+ Venice.....then maybe an X2...the shadow knows.....
:)
Then 2x G.Skill Kit Extreme 2 x 256 Mo PC4800 (so 4x256....because Venice Core does have Dual-Memory controller..... :)
But the mobo...aouch????
I've seen that you guys are running :
DFI LanParty UT nF4 SLI-D (Active cooling)
DFI LanParty nF4 SLI-DR (Active cooling) 360 HTT
MSI K8N Diamond 54G or K8N (Active cooling)
But no :
Abit AN8-SLI (Passive cooling)
Abit Fatal1ty AN8-SLI (OTES system and Active cooling) 330 HTT
Asus A8N-SLI (Active cooling)
Asus A8N-SLI Premium (Passive cooling)
Gigabyte GA-K8N Ultra-SLI (Passive cooling)
Those cards may reach 300 HTT but no one is using them...Why??
CG would be watercooled Sapphire X800XL PCI-E
Cooler Master aquagate modded
active Tower cooling (just what it says....not much more to tell about....self-studied...)
This rig would be for OC and games......
I'm planning to reach 2,6 Ghz....2,8 Ghz.....but only 24/24h results....
I know a little about AMD OC methods but i'll learn and already have a little...
Of course....as soon as they will release lower freq. San Diego... :p:
Question : has AMD planned a 939 socket version of the Sempron 64 (with 256 L2 cache and X86-64....and SSE3....) ??
Also : have read a spec compare status....A64/A64X2/Dual-Opteron/Opteron Dual-Core....
It seems that memory bandwidth is doubled when using dual-Opteron instead of A64X2 (2x1024 L2.....so 4400+ or 4800+)
also, you need a proper board.....Socket 940
Asus K8N-DL ??
also ECC memory sticks
I can buy a San Diego 4000+ for 380€ (i can hope for 2,9 Ghz...more than an FX-57..on water :D )
....but i don't know if that's a realisitc choice......an X2 would allow me to take my rig a couple of years further....
also, i'm waiting for ram disks.....damned.....they would be fast...:)
So heres my little Baby. Mobos Limit is reached und not so stable.

anyone else get any of the total crap E6 venice's ? mostly the 3200 or higher ?
ive seen other besides me post that they cant get past 2.6 stable even running 1.7v which is just horse pucky if you ask me.. but oh well... life goes on
I had two E6!
One was 0523DPCW was stable at Stockcore up to 2430Mhz.
The other one was 0528GPFW was only up to 2300Mhz at Stockcore Primestable.
But both where very sensible and fast Freezing at Overclocking.
Heres my LBBLE 0517DPMW with an XP120+1800rpm fan.

It can do 2,7GHz with 1.65V but only with a divider or in single channel.
Only SuperPi 1M stable though.
Stay away from these.
LBBLE 0517BPMW thats mine, it has gave 2.7 with 1.5v
I got stuck with a dud Rev. E 0524 that cannot get above 280.. dividers won't even work.

Can i go to 30sec? with A64Tweaker configuration? thanks
any ideas if the ones newgg is selling are a good revision for overclocking? I just want to be able to do 2.8 on a dfi nf4 infinity w/ xp90 cooling.
could i expect the same oc with a 3000 as with a 3200?
I bought a 3200+ E6 Venice week 0531EPDW on ewiz a short while ago, which is probably very similar to what newegg sells now.Quote:

Thermalright xp90 ... LBBLE
Venice, idiot proof ...
Edit on request > Volts are correct, and i thought it was already becoming clear by now that the early LBBLE chips were the best overclockers, so yeah this is kind of a brag screenshot indeed ... Just a matter of luck, nothing more ...
And iff for some reason the powersupply is important > "Ednet 480", the best there is ...
Unless this is just a list of "show-off" screenshots, would those of you who already posted your high overclocks, edit your posts to include the BIOS and if possible real voltages, ambient temperature, cooling used, and little details like which motherboard and which PSU... :slap:
Perhaps then we might have a clearer idea of which cores (date) are better overclockers.
Also, please try not to boast too much how easy your 2.9Ghz or even 3.0Ghz on air is :nono:
I suspect many of us have had hard enough time to get to 2.7-2.8Ghz :woot:
Hi everyone
P4GD1 died a week ago
So bought an Abit AN8 SLI (BIOS 1.6)
and 4x256 PC4800 Gskill 2.5-4-4-8
Venice 3000+
Funny, the revision of the mem controller will now accept 4xDDR400 mem banks...but won't overclock
so back to old Corsair PC4400 C25 2x512 chips
Watercooling Cooler Master aquagate modded
Tried and installed XP Pro SP2 (NX bit activated)
also CN'Q is activated....
and Nforce4 raid chip is running 2 x 80 S-ATA Maxtor diamond max PLUS 9..RAID 0
OC Guru is running
Sapphire X800XL 432/540 PCI-E
(Sapphire X800GTO² modded to X850 XT PE is coming
I run it @ 267 FSB / HTT 3x / 2.403 Ghz / NForce4 Vcore @ 1.55 / CPU ref. Vcore @ +0.020
24-24 use
DDR@DDR333
I can push it @ 2700 Mhz
Nforce4 @ 1.7
HTT @ 1.3
CPU @ 1.6
FSB @ 300
DDR @ DDR333
SuperPi@33.468 (don't know if it's good..)
I had to increase the latencies...
still 2.5-4-4-8, but 've increased other latencies (PC wasn't stable....reboots itself when shutdown ??)
don't know how to post some pics....
but i can tell you more about my rig....
The serial number of the cpu is right at my parent's home....so will give it in a week max....
Is there a way i could use my Gskill mem sticks ??
_lower latencies (given to be 2-3-3-5 but at what DDR Voltage??)
_to use synchronised DDR (well, the memory is NOT synchronised anyway with A64 but @ 300 HTT....
But the matter is those sticks have no cooling system (heat dissipator) and if i use only 2 banks, i would have 2x256=512 only of total mem....
do you know any issues??
With those settings, board will fail @ 303 FSB
Icould up the Nforce 4 Vcore a little bit (1.8 max)
But the proc is rather close to it's limit....
Is this good stepping for 3200 venice? Thanks.
LBBLE 0516EPGW

I'm not going to be pushing for every last MHz, but my BH-5 RAM should at least get a 3500+ up to 2750MHz (on good air cooling). Should I go E3 or E6 core?
I have just flashed with the DFI beta bios 510T1 beta officail and it seems to be much better with my vinice and the 2 X 512 tccd memory. I am doing 2900 MHz 1:1 with 1.58 vcore and 2.87 vdimm. I will try for more later but I see my +12 voltage is showing a bit low on this 20 pin 600 watt Enermax. I will test the line at the molex.
Just to add this is bf2 and all game stable!

I would say that it is probably better than average. Here is what I was able to do with that stepping. Ran it 10x270, 1.4x113% for 24/7. 0512 and 0517 seem to be the best.Quote:

I have a Venice 3000+ (now they're obsolete, I thought I should grab one and see how good); it's an E6 (BW) stepping, second line is LBBWE 0533FPDW.
To play with it, I have an ASRock Dual mobo with 1.20 bios which limits vcore to 1.45v and the HTT to 274 MHz. Using the stock HSF and stock voltage (1.4), the CPU primes at 270*9, memory at CPU/12 and HT 4x. Beyond 270 HTT, it tends to lock up and at 274 HTT won't boot - I need to install one of the OCW beta bios to see if that's purely a mobo thing. Temps are 17C room, 28.5 idle and 42 priming. I think that this one can go further with a new bios.
Despite the E6 revision being slated as poor, 33% overclock isn't at all shabby, particularly with stock cooling. Maybe not as good as the E3, but not bad.

Re the Venice 3000+ E6 I mentioned previously. Prime stable at 2.475 G (275 x 9) stock HSF and 1.4v, won't run a clean prime at 280 x 9 (2.54 G) even with 1.45v.
This is on an Asus A8N32-SLI; it largely confirms the Asrock result. Seems that the chip hits a wall over 275 HTT. It's a seller, tho it would do a gamer proud at 2.4G .
is there anyone got the new E4 stepping venice yet ?

I'm using stock cooling and I think it's a good score. After I complete the burn-in, I hope to reach 3 Ghz mark.
Xenon you will get the 2,9gig but never 3 Gig. A Burnin will never bring you 130Mhz, maybe 30mhz.
Yes, but I don't pretend to obtain 100 Mhz just after the burn-in.Quote:

Anyone familiar with results with this E3 3200 venice stepps?
LBBLE 0520BPEW
LBBLE should be quite good.
LBBLE 0521APIW = bad prosessor, 2.5GHz need 1.6-1.65v and 2.8 need 1.8volt..
but i run this prosessor 1.31 @ 2.2GHz, so they aare good to run undervolting :)

I've got a Venice 3000+ LBBLE 0517 EPAW and i managed to get 2.85Ghz (315x9) with 1gb set of GSkill PC4400LE. On a pos eVGA board with 1.5vcore and 2.8vdimm with timmings @ 2.5-3-3-7. Got it to load windows and run a few rounds of Q4. No benchies tho :brick:
Waiting on a new DFI Expert mobo to see what i can do again ;)
Just testing my 0517 APFW Venice 3000+, so far here's the result with Blue Orb II :

i need some assistance plz. :)
i just both an 3200+ Venice and i was thinking what's the best way to burn the processor in?
should i just oc it to the limit (without errors, SPI stable, etc) with default vcore and perform some prime95 for some days.. and then increase voltage and frequency?
or should i take to the very limit (not even SPI stable) and perform the same treatment.. with cpuToast or similar program?
what's the best way to improve your A64 oc hability? :)
tks for your help
