more than 2700Mhz

Hello, I cannot put this stable or i cant join to OS if I do more than 2700Mhz, Which could be the reason? maybe cpu memory controller?
I can do 270*10 , 9*290 , more FSB crashes because >2700Mhz.
I prefer to stay at 290*9 because 270*10 with 1.66Vcore is too much (36/50 temps).

Right now im at 290*9, more FSB and i cant join to SO, or I must to put vcore till 1.66,11.7 and inestable. My HSF is XP90+Enermax. Any tip to improves that OC?

Here is mine 3200+ WPAW 0450 not a very good stepping under -45°C. More Vcore means for this cpu less mhz or not stable. 1,6Vcore is the max. Going now for 3000+ they are much better I think

I got one winnie 4 days ago, it is
CBBID 450 WPMW, it does 2450MHz on def. vcore and 2637 (9x293) at 1.6V. Not bad, but i will be looking for something better :)

I thought that was better 295*9 because more FSB, but i dont know for sure.

Maybe for gaming is better 295*9 for greater bandwitdth, i need some answers ;)

Diamonddog something isnt right. Giving that cpu clock and those timings at those speeds 30Second 1M is really high.

When you place dividers; you are couner-balencing he cpu clock speed by increasing the HTT to a higher value. Thus increasing your FSB so your RAM runs faster.
I only run at 295*9 when benching my pc and wanting to get my max RAM speeds. Most of the time I just run 265*10...

Yes me too alec, but overpass the 2.7Mhz! i cant, also cpuz says the vdimm wrong. I have 1,56V but its 1.6V, the very nice result is the qk4722's one :eek:

Just got my new chip through yesterday morning:

It's a goodish week, but I don't know about the rest of the stepping - any clues?

Anyway, I paired it up with my Neo2 Platinum, 2x256 of Corsair 3500 BH-5, and an OCZ Booster, with an XP-90 and 92mm Tornado on top, and went for broke :D

Minor tragedy befell my BH-5 when the booster's VR ripped off a couple of SMD resistors on the way in:

Thankfully they were above an empty space, which is why (I think) the stick still works fine :banana:

So I got clocking :D Started out with memtest86 before installing Windows, and it seems that I'm getting slightly worse clocks than I did on my LPB - 250MHz wouldnt pass at 3.3v on the booster, which it could do all day on the DFI board. Could this be a result of the resistors that have been knocked off? Anyway, I eventually got it to loop memtest flawlessly at...wait for it...270x10, 2-2-2-10, 4x LDT, 1:1. And 4v :slobber:

Someone wanna tell me what my chip's life expectancy is if I try that for anything more than a few minutes at a time?

Next up was Windows, which was a good deal more problematic - at the moment it won't even boot Windows at 10x250x4, with up to 4v through the RAM and 1.7v through the CPU. Took it back down to 200x10 and tried clocking in Windows, this was as far as I got (unpatched, multiprocessor tweak, CodeRed's BH-5 settings for A64 Tweaker):

At 260x10 I just got reboots, it wasn't stable at 250x10 either.

My problems seem to be CPU related, I'm burning in with two instances of Prime small FFTs at 200x10 1.65v at the moment, do you guys reckon this'll help or is there something I'm missing? The CPU just doesn't want to get itself into Windows, even though it'll post at ridiculous speeds. Any advice would be appreciated :)

Hi there all of you, I'm kinda new here and this is my first post. I would like to congratulate all of you for doing such a great job here.

Regarding your tips about AV8 they are not quite accurate, at least in my configuration. I use TCCD memories but they do work best in slots 1&2, not 3&4. If I install them there I get worse results. Trying to boot 266x9 doesn't work at all(strange), even if I put some juice to cpu,sb,nb,ht. It's not that bad
at all for a CBBID, but it's not good if you look at the mem I use(quite expensive). I'll just give it a try and change the cpu, hopefully.

I got sick of looking at my CBBID 0451 3500+ which I had Primed at 2.56ghz on air with 1.6v. I was planning on putting it under the Mach II this weekend but I'm pretty sure it won't do much more than 2.6ghz. On a whim I went down to the local PC Club store and took a look at their very limited selection. I picked up a 3000+ CBBHD 0444 and it looks good so far. The thing that really impressed me was it going all the way to 2.6ghz on the default 1.4v! It looks like a good match for my TCCD and the DFI NF4-DR.

:toast: Thats about what my CBBHD 0450 did at default. It went 2.7ghz with 1.45/1.5v and now 2.8/2.9ghz with 1.6v. Good luck with it. :thumbsup:

just picked up a 3000 winchester retial box to play with while i get my FX-53 out of the hospitial. anyways here are the steppings let me know what i got? i usualy try and buy retail because they tend to give you the verry latest steping is what i hope the case is now?? i planon setting the chip up in my mahc unit tonight so i hope im not effected by that temp thing the winchesters seemed to be haunted about a few months back...

Can't seem to get it stable enough to Prime over 3ghz, but i can run 3Dmark2001 and also SuperPi
I've lowered it all the way down to 2.85ghz and it still craps out of Prime, sometimes in an hour, sometimes after 4 hours. Seems kind of random. Any ideas? Otherwise I'm pretty happy with stability. :toast:

Seems my core is not going to cooperate with me much past this OC. No matter what I adjust I can't get the core to accept 2.4+. I've had my ram to nearly 500mhz ddr and dropped HTT lower and lower but still, even at 1.525v the cpu just poo's on it all.

Getting better

Well, had some time to do more testing. Lower FSB than my original OC, but higher overall speed, and slightly higher vcore. Looks like I got a nice chip! I am really happy with it so far. :D

More testing with the CBBHD 0447 SPAW 3200+.

This thing gets iffy around the 2.7ghz mark, but its doing some nice work below that.

Hay zeebs it sounds like a crappy step you have there, You sould sell it to me and get another. :hehe: Just joking bro. Mine was a little stubborn at first. 2.5ghz was around what it would do stable at that voltage too, But once i bumped the vcore up it started to take off. Keep pushing it. Good luck. :cool:

Mine does Prime for 8h @1,5v /2550Mhz.
But if i try 2650Mhz, it needs 1,65V. Thats to much 4 Stock Cooler.

Thx bro. I am having problems in prime with it over 2550 mhz. It gets an error within the first minute, seems like I have tried it all :(. It just won't stabilize. At least it is running super cool @ 2.55 but I want MORE SPEED!!

If I can't figure out what to do to get it stable beyond that I will probably just splurge on some vx to keep things as fast as possible for now and maybe upgrade for venice or DC FX :D

Anyone that couldn't run a Winnie @ full power r404a prommy (-50ºC +-) but it could run with the prommy fans off? (-35ºC +-)? Mine runs with the fans off, but my prommy has a leak now and cant test the OC, so if anyone can run them with the fans off share your results :P

3000+ CBBHD 0447 TPCW on STOCK AMD FSH, running @ 9x300MHz=2.7GHz with 1.55v vcore & RAM (with 9/10 divider) running 270MHz @ 2-2-2-5 3.5v vdimm.
+24 hours Prime95 stable, now runing F@H for about 13 hours error free. :)

This is my 3200+ CBBID 0451 Stock cooled, DFI Ultra-D and 512Mb BH5.
CPU always arround 2630Mhzs 1.65v, mems @ 265Mhzs 2-2-2-5 +- and 330HTT =)

i have this proc in my signature and i'm very unhappy with it...just can't find any stable combination

tried several things in bios...nothing is 100% prime stable...what shall i do ????

so far stable 240-255 * 9 max.....and needs a lot of juice... :(

ROFL at that guy who removed the IHS.... Way to butcher your processor... If you would have just slid a razor blade lengthwise under each corner and lifted, instead of stabbing at the sides, you could have had it off in 15 seconds, without all those scars... I hope after all that it at least helped your OC...
