as above lane if you flash the backup bios to f6x and use f7e i'd say , it very rarely tries to flash to backup then , these i would say are the best bioses and as dinos says if it reboots and you notice its gone back to the old bios switch off psu then when turned on it lets you back into the normal bios
alt f12 on bootup then it says flashing backup bios
Anyone know how I get 58x on this board? Max is 57x
yeah other boards have higher, ud7 has 57x :(
I uploaded a new bios for you on HWbot forum you asked at, it goes up to 59x
LINK
Thanks Dino!
Bah
Ah nice :). Anyone able to boot at 57-58x though. I can't get mine stable at 56x, it boots and shows 5.6Ghz at the POST screen, but then it crashes a few seconds later .
How is F8x going for everyone in terms of overclocking?
Guys
I have a GIGA X58A UD3R with RAID0 x Samsungs F3's 1TB, will the GIGA P67A UD7 regognize my raid0 on the intel ports ? i know the bug but well i will give a shot
thanks !
Sergio
i dont know cowie i am suspecting its XP related mate
will test on UD5 again
I've had my two f3 502hj's on my previous X58a-UD7.
And yes that wil work! But only on the Sata-300 port.
It cost me a full day to get my pre installed raid0 setup to boot.
I think its the first F3 Bios that gives trouble whit PCH 600 and Marvel.
I was getting; boot failure, missing HDD, Error, and a bunch of other BLa Bla's.
Because of the bug i dident try the 300 controller but after words that's the only one that works.
question, i had my set running previously on valueram 1333, because my 1866 i ordert was delayed.
And the thing is, that when overclock through turbo, say 45x100=4500 it clocks back to 1600mhz idle.
But when i set SPD on 18.66 wit the same turbo overclock it stays on 4500 and won't clock back to 1600mhz.
Is that because VID only works whit 1333 ?
Dinos have something like a 6th sense, someone ask about 57+ multi, and hop a bios.
@Glenboy: yop thanks dude, will give a try, hoping it's not related to the problem you and cowie have got .
Not yet. I flash with the new one using @bios, then reflash with Qflash at start up.
Great thanks, I'll flash and test tonight.
I have boot in windows without error with 51-52-53-54x ...
Still no crash in windows as i post right now with 5415mhz ... best bios for me so far.
http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/2930/5400.png
definitevely like this bios, have find a good sweet spot temp vcore at 5100mhz stable for 24/7 ... enough don't need more ( outside for benching )
The new bios really works...
f8x FTW
Got my replacement board in today and everything is back up and running :)
Hmm, fresh flash F7E, try to OC from scratch, no matter what i do I get 4.5ghz, even with 49-50 multi selected.
I have to load a previous template in for it to work, WTF.
Really starting to hate this board.
Huum, try clear cmos, reflash ( try the F8x ), reboot and load optimized defaut .. maybe something who mess with turbo settings or something like that.
Hi.
Yeah, tried the power off, cmos clear. reboot, reload saved bios settings.
then a bunch of reboots, and back to square 1. the maddening thing is
I had stable system for a week or more, then suddenly it wont work.
I finally loaded F7A back, and kinda running ok again, will try F8X also.
try setting turbo enabled, disable EIST, C1E, C states, enable CPU PLL Overvoltage, set turbo multis all the same, set TDP and TDC to 300 each.
Getting nowhere with 58x. 57x I can do 57x 101 but cant even boot at 97 bclk at 58x
Need some help on this one, any idea?
It's with the new bios F8x...
Did you clear the cmos with the power supply unplugged (or switched off) after flashing? And did you flash with the DOS based spiflash (this is always the safest flasher).
My UD5 board was setting PCIE to 8x and anything less than 100.0 bclk, (and setting it to 8x on auto) until I cleared the CMOS...though I'm not sure if a previous overclock caused this or not, as I didn't notice it for days...
Endless reboots if i set it up as above, Was doing fine everything in CPU page set to auto, with 49 multi, then reboot and it acts like OC i was just running is failed. I loaded F8X with SPIFLASH and seeing how that goes.
BTW under memory settings for channel B it has a '-' instead of a value for I0. should it be this way? for channel A it has it set as '1' this is with redline 6-8-6
stuff, PSC i think?
Also notice i used to get splash screen right when i hot 50 on post, now it doesnt show up until after, this isnt just with F8X, noticed it with F7E and F7A
I will try F8x
He mate, got the same warning here with F7.
Seems to me its a bios issiue, because my only two USB components ( keyboard an mouse) where previously running fine on my X58A-UD7.
I've monitort it for a wile, because it randomly kept popping up. but i aint seeing any voltage spikes at the +5v line.
Here's mine
http://img808.imageshack.us/img808/3...ue1biosf71.png
My Asus boards have the same USB Overvoltage error too sometimes... more Intel chipset bugs plz
Hey guy's are there any reviews about the performance of an P67 board with and without NF200 to compare.
because its not a 100% clear to me what the nf200 Ads, because it only splits the lanes.
Sin i've read yours:up:, but that was in comparrison with X58. like to see a non Nf200 vs one with so that the Cpu can't compromize the score,
because SB is clock for clock faster then Bloomfield.
I also encountered the same problem, had only 1 usb logitech receiver connected to my pc for my mouse and keyboard use.
Eventhough it has not yet been confirmed it might be the Renesas chip / software causing this msge. to appear.
After I reinstalled the Usb software 20300 the error msg. /warning so far
dit not surface.
Here bios F8X Eldonko:) Vcore @ 1.58 with SS
Dang..pretty difficult board
http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/101...enshot003c.png
Niceley made Dumo ..
Anyway, you see a good difference with SS on it ? im in question if i mod the head of mine for try it on this baby ( just the fixation, not hard anyway ) ...
My CPU doesnt like several multis, 55x and 54x especially (56x and 57x work great) but I still get them to run. Once I finally get this thing to boot Im ok. Good point on the 97 bclk though, I havent tested that using other multis, Ill give that a try. I saw dumo run 58x so it cant be the BIOS.
Tell me about "booting". Looks like my motherboard just doesn't like booting from the first time, ever. Thank god for that chipset bug, ill be able to switch to Asus Delux w/o any problems in April.
Oh yeah when Im trying to bench PI sometimes it takes me 20 minutes to get 54x to boot at ~200Mhz lower than I can run 32m. Have to try different bclk and hope for the best.
Hi,
Please, please help me out here!!! I flashed the motherboard with @bios from F3 to F6 (started with default setting, hyperthreading off). Now it keeps on trying to boot, but doesn't even get into the bios boot up screen. Isn't the Dualbios supposed to take over here? Bootdrive is an intel 160 gig SSD.
I pushed the 'clear CMOS' button, but that didn't do a thing.
When I look at the display on the motherboard it goes up to '26' and then just powers down and reboots.
Before the computer worked just fine. I got a Geil GVP38GB1600C9DC memory kit (2 X 4GB CL9-9-9-28).
--> is my bios fried or maybe my memory is not compatible with the never firmware?
Any help is more than welcome, as I'm just beginning to learn the overclocking world :(
here try this.... it work for me

Anyone running sli on this board using the 16x1 slot and the 8x2 slot a friend of mine has just got this board and we are having trouble getting it to work are there any bios settings, voltages or drivers we need in order for this to work?
both cards work fine on their own...
Thanks. I just found the reason of the problem: the Geil memory is not supported anymore after a bios upgrade OR downgrade.
My solution was putting in other memory that is supported. Getting the computer to boot into windows. Power down again. Remove memory. Put in Geil memory. System works again!!!
Now, since I don't really trust this, I just put in other memory to be sure. But it is possible to use the cheapo Geil memory.
switch cards around, ive had SLI not want to work sometimes unless the cards were put in order they like
but it should work man ive tested both 16x slots and 16 and 8
no the issues look like the 8x slot does not work properly, using only one gpu (580) it works in all slots except the last one (no screen on when gpu in x8-2) does not show up in device manager or nvidia cp (when in sli)
we tried using a 1x sound card to test the slot and that surprisingly worked, very strange...
thinking about leaving it running x16 - x16 with stock coolers until the board gets replaced because of the 6 series fiasco
This is such bull :censored:!
I want this motherboard and now that I have the money, they're all~ goneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!
:censored::upset::soap::soap::soap::cussing:
Truehighroller,
arent you the person who got asus to fix some q9650 cpu margin bug on a p5q bios way back?
http://www.nextdaypc.com/main/produc...inid=ND0130014 never heard of this place but says they have 8.
Well, after much frustration I found that my system likes nearly all the voltages to be set in auto.
with ram volts in auto (corsair vengeance) and vtt/qpi in auto, I have been running well with 16 gigs of ram at
1600 9-9-9-24 checking easy tune, it set vtt/qpi at 1.05 and ram at 1.52 .. checking in bios it shows volts
at Vtt/qpi 1.064 and ram 1.52 been playing with large ram disks 2x4 gigs and system seems pretty stable.
if i set Vtt/qpi and ram manually to above voltages, I get instability. this is with CPU at 4.9 CPU volts set manually.
How can i check to see what speed a non GPU PCIE card is running at? I have a gtx480 in slot 1 and a raid card in slot
3. just wanna verify it's running at 8x
Sorry to hear that. I found a guy with a shop by me that has a MSI P67A-GD65. I thinking about just saying hell with it and getting it for now as it seems to be overclocking just as easy as these other motherboards.
I'd just have to put up with a sorta buggy bios I reckon from what I've read so far about it...
BTW I never had a p5b deluxe. I just read the thread from time to time because I had considered getting one for awhile (and also wasn't sure about the ud3p) and because it was interesting visiting it...
BTW the board still works, but with the burnt 4 pin, it's very unreliable if not at stock (and dangerous to use), thus I was forced into the SB upgrade. pushing a QX9650 at 4.2 ghz and 1.45v and pencil droop mod was too much for a 4 pin connector....
What if i use low BCLK & high multi like BCLK90x57 = 5130Mhz
well guys finally all things arrived to my country thanks to ma mate The Real 7 for the great help
this are my 24/7 Clocks very happy

cheers mates
Sergio
Nice move Sergio  & that 460's flying allong
Congrats Sergio!
I would back it down to 47 multi for 24/7, dont know if leaving Internal CPU PLL over voltage enabled is good for the chip.
for those missing the pci simple communications controller in your device manager you need this intel driver
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta...gine+Driver%29
Guys is this a bug or by design that DVID is only selectable when Vcore set to Normal ?? When i set vcore to manual value, DVID is disabled
http://img.i4memory.info/reviewimage...vid_normal.png
Its the same on UD5, kind of buggs me as on other older boards you could set the default value like 1.2 then use special add/dvid but the Giga has to be normal & I find normal moves arround depending on core speed so there is no way to use the C states without the voltages going all over the place.
Hi Sergio, this enable change bclk with ET6.
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...&postcount=444
What's the point having Manual value +/- DVID? Isn't Manual value +/- DVID = more/less Manual value?
3Ds @ 5.7ish now:)
After new bios setting, it always reboot twice with post code led at C1 then once at 50 then all good to go:)
http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/9...nshot020nj.jpg
C-N after you OC and test for stable 24/7 you enable EIST and CE1 states ? doesnt affect when gamming ? i tested on other system and i had stutters as CPU was changing speed constant, i guess games are not prepared for that, but i just want to have your opinion.
Cheers
Sergio
Exactly Sergio, get it nice & stable then switch it on. I have always used the power saving features & never had any issues at all provided it works properly in the first place. I'm not saying its not working on the UD5 but the voltage spikes too high under load with Level 1 & its useless with std due to the drop & droop. The voltage spikes higher than Level 1 does with a set vcore & IMO Level 1 overvolts too much anyway so any way I look at it, it aint good.
Does anyone else have there windows experience index not working ? It hasn't worked on mine since i installed on day 1
Well,,,, I broke down and ordered the only board close to this one that I could find any where in the United States. I called so many places it's insane. There were some out there still showing stock and some allot of stock for that matter but when you call them they tell you they yanked them all off the shelves and sent them back already.
I ordered a GA-P67A-UD3P from a shop with a cool IT guy running it that felt the way I do about this recall and he saved a few. It should arrive Tuesday he said. This will suffice for now. I have water cooling ready to go so I might be fine with the motherboard TBH. Plus I have a ton of fans I can place here and there on the mosfets etc. to keep everything cooler and more stable at higher speeds.
I seen some guy say he had his 2600k at 5.15Ghz~ for 24/7 and I think it was air cooling.. I should be fine with it.
@ andyr(uk):
I'm almost 100% sure here saying that it's related to one of your drivers not being of the WHQL flavor or, signed by Microsoft.
Yes I do use level 1 as std drop/droops 0.1v too much imo.
No not the increase/spike from unload to load.
Level 1 overvolts a bit & compounded by the overvolt from the bios setting looks bad i.e set 1.335 get 1.356 in windows 1.38 under load .045 increase this should be better/less & simply put GB should at least re hash the numbers in bios to match windows. Not easy maybe but other boards I have used can get it right.... sometimes with several goes & on one a DFI, they even put a user adjustable value in bios to correct it.
Level 1 vcore set normal with or without dvid you get even more overvolt under load compounded even more the more vcore you add as some chips need 1.35 / 1.45 even 1.55 to do 5G.
Level 2..... forget it it spikes so much the rig reboots under load!!
