Super Talent PC-6400 (T800UX2GC4) 4GB tests..

Hey all,

I have been playing with 4GB configurations lately, and thought I would give the results of some of my Super Talent tests. The modules I am using are the T800UX2GC4, that are PC2-6400 speeds using 4-4-3-8 timings at 1.8v. They either use Micron Rev E or F, I haven't cracked open to see. Some people say E, Super Talent told me F, so I dunno.

I've been playing with these all weekend, and am quite impressed with the results. The 4GB results keep extremely close to the 2GB results; I will show comparisons after the pictures.

400MHz 3-3-3-8 Sandra Unbuffered: 3615 vs 3554 (2GB is 1.7% faster)
400MHz 3-3-3-8 Everest Latency: 80.3 vs 81.7 (2GB is 1.7% faster)
467MHz 4-4-4-8 Sandra Unbuffered: 4729 vs 4655 (2GB is 1.6% faster)
467MHz 4-4-4-8 Everest Write: 3290 vs 3335 (4GB is 1.35% faster)
467MHz 4-4-4-8 Everest Latency: 67.5 vs 68.7 (2GB is 1.75% faster)
467MHz 4-4-4-8 PC Mark Mem Test: 5356 vs 5292 (2GB is 1.2% faster)

I hope someone finds this info useful. I am not really done my comparison tests yet, but it's nice to see that the 4 * 1GB overclocks just as well as 2 * 1GB. 280FSB and DDR2-933 speeds are always a sweetspot on my system, and it's nice to see 4655/4673 Sandra Unbuffered for a 4GB kit. I am not complaining :D

DDR2 is looking pretty good.

Wonder if AM2 will pull off 4 or 8GB of RAM at 1T?

No doubt it's because of my crappy CPU that is unable to hit even 300FSB reliably. If I had a better or unlocked CPU the results would look far more impressive.

Not likely. As far as I know, DDR2 does not run in 1T due to the high speeds. Only time I have seen 4 * 1GB use 1T was using extremely slow speeds, like 100MHz. Don't quote me, I could be wrong. The high speeds of the modules make up for the 2T timings.

I actually haven't tested that yet. Will do tonight.

I also found out that these use Rev. D chips, D9GKX to be exact.

Certainly you have a problem,the sandra's bandwitch is very low in both the cases (2gb and 4 gb)

Once again, I blame this crap 820 :)

georgesod, 3,2,2 is only possible at low speeds. I only tried DDR2-400 though. DDR2-800 is 3-3-3-8 and no lower. Changing the tRCD or tRP will reboot then ask me to flash the BIOS because it's corrupted. It's not really corrupted, but that's the error it gives.. so definitely not stable.

I have a 2gb kit of supertalent T800UX2GC4 that does 548mhz @ 4-4-3-4 timmings with 2.2v

I love the Stuff!!
