PS
was 225 fsb the highest you can go? You think it's mobo or CPU problem?

The first 3DMark05 run on Conroe was 3008, so give VW time and we'll see what happen...

there are no options to change the vcore or lower the m/p, so I have to test all the thing under those stupid settings.
anyway, better have than nth.
my conroe sys cannot overclk at all

Yup found the benchmarks :)
Why won't AMD up the L2 Cache? why still use 512k*2?Quote:

What's going on here lol.
Also, is the overclocking on Conroe limited to the board..Is it an Intel branded board with no OC options? or can you jsut OC the conroe at ALL!
AM2 sucks plain and simple. :toast:
K8 wasn't BW starved even in dual core and 6.4GBs.The low latency of DDR1 did wonders and the high latency of DDR2 will be a problem in at least matching socket 939 performance.
hummm 39 secs thats sad so is 5-5-5 timings why not use better timings but then again you are having problems so that explains alot.
my 4400+ is around 30-31 at 2.7 and as low as 28s as in my sig.
Still impressive conroe results
keep up the good work
interesting results... and how high is AM2 temp?

Uhm.. errr...
Interesting AM2 benchies you've got VictorWang.. ;)
I guess the mem latencies obviously hurt mem performance..
But as we can see, the fact that you can OC it at all is indeed a huge achievement since the conroe setup wouldn't even budge a bit.
Spi aside, your results seem to be similar to what HKEPC's inital AM2 vs s939 comparison showed..
AMD better work up a bit before the June launch ;)
Thank you very much Victor for your work to bring us these numbers!
But why did you overklock the X2?
At stock speed it would have been very ugly against Conroe while being more expensive...
That was 4800+ , had 1MB L2 and DDR2 800.Quote:
