Image burnt on screen?
Last night, I was messing around with desktop backrounds. I was tired of the black look and changed to a brighter color. I was shocked, I could see the outline of an online game I play. The outline of the map, chat bar, hotkeys were clearly visible. My monitor is only 3 months old, a dell 2005fpw. It hasn't been there too long, since I just started playing this game. What can I do to get rid of it?

I don't know how to get rid of it but I notice on bootup my 2005FPW's have the WinXP taskbar burnt into the bottom.

LCD"s dont burn in.
I am not sure of how to be rid of it but I know there is a way.

Strictly speaking, they don't burn in like CRT's do... but they can have burn in-like issues, just like any other technology. To keep away the word "burn in", most manufacturers of LCD's call it "image persistance".
Like I've been telling people for a long time, this can and does happen with LCD's. Fortunately, with LCD's, you *do* seem to be able to get rid of it (or at least, change it). What most people do in that situation is load an all-white page and let that sit there for awhile instead. I don't know myself whether that actually gets rid of the problem, but *reportedly* it does (by using all colours, not just the few used in the 'persistant image' and then letting them reset or something along those lines).
