the fan looks dinky but with a little modding maybe? :D too bad its out of stock or i'd give it a try for a mere 16.99usd

test results:
648/724.5 - 1.4/2.086/2.086/1.486 - AMD dual core X2 cpu cooler with two 80mm fans - 63c after ten mins of artifact scanning
648/724.5 - 1.4/2.086/2.086/1.486 - stock evercool - 80c after 3 mins and 35 secs of artifact scanning before i cancelled
648/724.5 - 1.4/2.086/2.086/1.486 - evercool with stock amd fan in the center - 76-77c after 10 mins of scanning
648/724.5 - 1.4/2.086/2.086/1.486 - evercool with two 80mm fans (same as ones used for stock amd x2 cooler) - 82c after 4 mins before i cancelled
mounting is not a variable because i did not have to unmount the cooler to change fans at all (used Arctic Silver 5)
my thoughts:
-fins actually get hot! unlike xp120 at 60c...this says something about how well the contact is between the fins and the heatpipes
-only thing that is transferring heat from base to the rest of the cooler are the two heat pipes, definitely not enough
-as previously said, it would be better if the cooler was attached to the base somehow rather than connected only through two pipes
-design could definitely be improved upon, but good idea for a universal cooler
-you lose the ability to use a heatsink on one memory module (see pic)
-supplied fan weak
finally someone (cantankerous) asked whether or not you can still use ramsinks, the answer is most likely yes, unless your sinks are one inch high
or taller. not sure? then look at the height of the red aluminum cooler that cools the power area...it shouldnt be taller than that if u want
them to fit. but i bolded the fact that you lose the ability to use a sink on one module because the heatpipes get in the way
conclusion: stick with the stock cooler with the fan at around 50 percent. then it will be better than this cooler cuz no modding is required and heat is exhausted out ur case. i'll try this cooler on my x700
later...see how well it fares on a card with lower heat output.
the cooler...as you can see its missing two heatpipes in the middle to save on costs i guess
