Another amazing G.Skill 2GB ZX 275MHz 3-3-2-5 32MSPI

Would Infineon really beat UCCC? Most UCCC top at 270-280 with 3-4-4-8 timings [low voltage]. See what I can pull out of this 2GB ZX. These modules are not handpicked just opened a kit. G.S technician 2GB ZX also did 272Mhz 3-3-2-5!

I used a Venice 3000+ TTBT cooled, DFI NF4 Ultra-D 623 and a crappy PCI 9250 128MB, so dramatic 3Dmarks and 32M times...haha

DS/DataS = AUTO

Low bandwidth due low CPU speed..bah.

280+ was nogo, even with more vdimm.

I think UCCC will top higher then Infineon like 10-15MHz. Although Infineon have more tighter timings. UCCC love low voltage 2.5-2.6v instead of 2.7-2.85v

Also i dont suppose you got cs:s on that rig to test if they are 3d stable at that speed?

and then here's me wondering why my sticks only do 245 @ very loose timings (3-3-3-5 or higher, all the same) :stick: anything higher gives memtest errors and prime errors ... regardless of voltage or bios settings (unfortunately, i have got a asus A8N-sli deluxe with not too many bios options ...)

but anyway, congratulations ;-)

I bet it isn't 3d stable. 40min largeFTT isnt real proof either.
Great results for 200mhz rated ram though.

I bet it is 3D stable, can do every bench with it. If you want to see 2+ hours SP2004, i can show you. Give me 2 hours :d

And with every bench do you mean all 3dmarks too?

Ow 3Dmark is not so heavy though. If me RAm can do at least 4M it can 3Dmark most of the time.

If SP2004, OCCT, S&M pass the memory is almost certain stable. OCCT and S&M are really mem picky.

I will try this RAM in my WS and play some BF2. play it too.

Do some research. These infenions pass everything pretty high but they just crap out on major 3dgames. Why? Don't know. Check out the corsair 2gb pc4400 thread from bachus_anonym.

Very nice results........mine top out at 255 3-3-3-8 2.8v, not that great but its Prime/3D stable. I seem to get better performance running 234 2.5-3-2-5, so thats what Im running 24/7 :)

Awesome results man. My set of ZX was DOA , so I sent it back for 2 gb ballistix. But my PQI are supposedly Infenion ICs. I can do superpi 32M at 266mhz but it wont be game stable at nething over 261 mhz. Not 3dmark , not game stable. Basically no 3d applications. Passed S&M though.
Got ne tips for me :D .

I just heared the problem too with infineon, at high clocks they seems to be windows bench stress stable but will not do 3Dmark. My highest to run 3Dmark and stable games is 265MHz 3-3-2-5. This is a IC problem.

My ZX does 273Mhz 5-2-3-3.0-1T in 32M/P95 but when I finally got a chance to run some 3D on I had to drop to 255MHz to avoid freezing and stuttering. Since then, I have played with three another Infineon Rev.C 2GB kits (different manufacturers) and all have same characteristics. Nothing helps, literally - hours of tweaking, voltage, timmings, Command Rate, BI Off...

But still, ZX price makes it very, very attractive regardless :toast:

Told ya :) Pretty much everyone experiences that with Infineon pushed to the MAX 2D-stable clocks. Some have to drop few MHz, some have to drop more... Something clearly sits in the IC and just pushes the wrong button there :lol:

PS : About game stability, Warcraft 3 is a nice windows benchmark for the memory like the pass 5 in memtest :)

is there any way that this IC problem can be releated to my ballistix as well?

I cant run over 260 at whatever timings and have 3d stability, where as i can prime all day at 280 (3-3-3-8 2.8vdimm).

sHure , that problem does not exist with ballistix as far as i know. I have a 2gb set of ballistix and can run them at 285 mhz all day long doing w/e . Games , benching , browsing , nething and they are just fine.

Doesn't mean jack if they'll bench/pass every test under the sun but fail in any 3D environment. 1 crash in a game resulting in a mem address error says it all. :fact:
