i975X: Asus announces P5WDG2-WS

There is host computer board which plans two kinds of editions in chip group i975X to learn ASUS at present, one of them edition is P5WD2-E Premium, another edition is everybody P5WD2-WS seen at present, this fund P5WD2-WS main use is to use the grade of the work station, so will just be called WS (Work Station)

This host computer board adopts the design of i975X +ICH7-R + Intel 6702PXH three chips, this host computer board has been supported CPU of Pentium Extreme Edition 955 of future generation of INTEL has supported CrossFire technology of ATI too, have supported two PCI Express X16s, two PCI64s, two PCIs in expanding , have built the respect and supported Dual Gbit LAN, eight groups of Serial-ATA 3Gb/s, eight groups of USB 2.0 inside, two groups of IEEE1394a

Information that the others are more detailed will wait for ASUS to be released and known formally .......The date that the host computer board is sold is possible at the beginning of December at present, the price is unknown

the picture is of the work station edition, it's not ment to be an enthusist board. The P5WD2-E Premium is the one we'll want.

I really wish Asus would stop using those damn clips for mounting thier NB coolers...

I always hate working with those things, ever since I nearly got impaled when they snapped out of my IC7 and barely missed my face as I was mounting a Swiftech MCX 159 R in it...

I'm glad ASUS decided not to put those useless PATA connectors (controller) on the i975X. :clap:

I think you missed the blue PATA connector on the side of this board.

Since it is a workstation board probably for PCI 66mhz cards.

I'm personally feeling really unenthused about 975x after seeing the boards I think I might stick with 90nm a bit longer if there is no way to use any 65nm single on the i955 chipset.

It looks like it indeed might be. Considering that A8N32 SLI already has 8 phase power, I'd guess that Asus used the nVidia board kind as a guinea pig (in AMD nVidia market DFI owns all the competition already for a while anyway), and if the 8 phase power worked well, it would be implemented in the next premium Asus Intel boards where Asus indeed is the topshelf player and usually comes with the best overclocking boards.
