Seems like ATI's at least doing something right! Well... Sampsa at least. ;)
Thumbs up Sampsa! Would love to see some benchies! :toast:
Is that some artifacting I see on the edge of ati tool?Quote:

hey look my £500,000 Ferrari looks great parked.
Finally syncronized GPU/GDDR work :D
He wouldn't be able to bench it, he's getting artifacts in 2d mode...
I would hardly call that hitting 1ghz/2ghz.
Of course, the milestone is now set either way.
Yes, but according to him the 1ghz core does not seem to be the problem, instead it's the ram. So, if he just lowered the memory a bit, I'm sure we'd see some excellent performance.
But it still shouldn't be able to take on two 7800GTX in SLI I think, or? Speaking of which, where are the X1800XT Crossfire benchies? I mean, are there no mastercards "out" yet (as in review samples)? Or? Why is everything so quiet?
yeah he artifacting in 2d, and he readily admitted it. However, those screens were taken with the mem running bare, and no cooling besides the ln2 canister on the GPU providing a bit of residual cooling.
Give him a few days to rig up some more Xtreme cooling for the mem and I can almost guarantee you he will be benching at 1Ghz/1Ghz, if not higher on the core. He said the core had absolutely no problems hitting 1Ghz, thats not its max, he just stopped there to grab the milestone for us. I dont think he's even tried anything higher than 1/1...that we know of. ;)
Well it does :stick:Quote:

CLEANUP IN ISLE 3!
God that looks good, I cant wait to see benching at those speeds. What sorta voltages are running?
Yup, its the first time four digits has been seen for the gpu...and it's just mindblowing !!!

LMAO...c'mon guys...
That just about sums things up...but hey I guess you guys like suicide screen shots...this is no different :p:Quote:

Anyhow, it's pretty cool :) Who would have ever thought about 2000!! TWO THOUSAND Mhz on GFX memory...very impressive. (an 1ghz GPU ofcourse :slobber: )
The first 10,000 was a suicide shot, the first 40k was a suicide shot, Tim. This is a first for the oc community, let's not discourage one of the greatest overclocker's in the world.
Though yes, Tim points out a valid issue that these clocks may not be stable, but I'm sure Sampsa will be working on that as well...I'm sure he doesnt want to break 1Ghz and bring down all the single card WRs in one day :p:

Gonna be damn cool :D :fact:Quote:

The memoy impresses me most, great work.
I think it is done with LN2. If he means -80C core temp then it can never be dice.
Yeah, could be, but do you think r520 is therefore that hot?

And gfx SSing? The world is going to hell...
Although it's just the ram and the GPU clock IS 1ghz :D Very impressive there.
His container has a big mass, I guess he can control the temp around -80C if he wants. He probably has less condensation at -80C and waits with -150C for his big run.Quote:

I could think of owning that card ;)
Didn't we already cover the fact that highier clock speeds != better performance
You know like in the CPU Realm.. Prescott vs K8....
Dil and Tim, the RAM caused the artifacts.
1GHz GPU is very likeable benchable.
GREAT JOB SAMPSA! :toast:
Proof:
 EVEN MORE THAN 1GHZ GPU????Quote:
