XP 1800+ Tbred B in da house

This afternoon, I went to the store in Germany where I buy most of my PC stuff.
I asked if they received some new AMD's. "Just came in", said the boss. I asked for a 1800+, to see if by any luck, it was a Tbred B.
It was the only one they had, I didn't check the other ones.
Checked the cpu's first line : DUT3C it said, week 50.
I wasn't 100% sure about it but as far as I remember, the TBred's A had DLT3C in the first line.
Took the cpu back home and installed it in my 8k5a2+.
Went in the bios and default Vcore was 1.60V. I knew the TBred's A had 1.50V default and the 2400+ and up had 1.65V.
I checked the stepping here and YES, it's a Tbred B.

Right now, it's running Prime95 at 1805Mhz, default voltage. Not bad for a cheap 1800+. :banana:
Board is Epox 8k5a2+, cooler is Swiftech 462A with Panaflo L1A.
I'll keep you guys updated on how high this sucker can go.

In the stepping JIUCB the B is the revision code. Last letter in stepping is revision. So yes you got a B for sure. Grats and keep us posted.:toast:

Also a week 50. So week 50 is about when they started the B's probably.I dont believe the lower speed tbred B's will do good for the first few months because they are just the chips that didnt make the xp2400 cut. The ones to watch out for will be the mobile Tbred B's on ebay. They will most likely scream.:eek:

BTW, its forum policy to update every half hour when you get a piece of hardware before everyone else, I hope you realize that.

Looking good so far, but I thinks it's safe to say that those cpu's wont' reach 2,3 or more on air like majority of 2400+ and highers, pleas prove me wrong :D

TB A's are doing 2100mhz. Go for 2200 or 2300 dude!!! : )

This cpu with a prometia might be stable at around 2.3-2.35. Sure you might be able to get a wcpuid screen higher but for being totally stable I say no more than that. Prove me wrong.:p

i just bought a 1800+ RIUGA week 49... Tbread A, nothing really ODD... but it gets really warm! even on Watercooling!...

tell me how much can you do with 1.70v... and just for fun! i will try to take this "Week 49" to the limit on that voltage too! :D

im with 8k3a+ w/Pc3500 EL....having temps of 45/50º.... i will try to lower them so i can be closer to your conditions!

Yes those tbred A are rather hot especialy if you look at temperature with internal diode.
I had 1700+ for weekend (week 47 realy nothning special)
I overclocked it to 2GHz but I needed 2V and prime95 load temps were 45°C on 8k3a with my new block.

....having 45/50º at 193x10 (1930mhz) 1.62vcore....
with a WAterblock home made by a friend from a local Forum, and some Renault 5 Radiator!!! ( the radiator!!!sucks believe me :D )

i just tryed to put 2ghz, hell, the temps at hardware monitor when POSTing are >50º!!! damn... no Vcore helped me reaching 2ghz stable... I seem to have reached the limit temperature :D BSOD all over the place!

Well, I did a quick try at 2100. Had to increase voltage to 1.85 but Prime crashed and system frooze.
I don't know, maybe the chip needs some more burning in or so.
2 ghz at 1.75V was stable but I fear that 2100Mhz will be about the max with simple aircooling.
Also, using a cheap chieftech 360W PSU. Gonna try with the Antec 400W or CWT 480W. Maybe it helps.
Further testing in the next couple of days. I'll keep you updated.

I was just curious as to what kind of temps you were getting on this chip. Im excited now, I wonder what this would do in my new Vapochill?

Temps were around 40°C at full load, 1.75V. Don't know if temps on 8k5a2+ are accurate but I doubt they are.
