5th November... if its true, its really not sooooo bad (considering the past). lol
available at those dates. It all depends on what ATI means with available.
i thought there would only be a 512MB version of the X1800XT.
No surprise for me but this part was shocking:Quote:

That's the ship date, as in the day they're shipping to stores, NOT wide-spread availability dates...in otherwords, you'll STILL be waiting til december before you can buy a x1800xt readily.
I'll just quietly hope that info is wrong thank you
Their own launch partners would be surprised if they had the xt's before christmas???Quote:

2. GDHardware also said that the X18xx series doesn't support shader model 3.0...which is a load of BS, it obviously does if they paid any attention to the sales tech slides that were posted at techpowerup the other day.
No, they said it did, they're talking about the x800gto's/x850xt crossfire in that sentence. They basically say they wouldn't advise it to ANYONE.
gee i guess i better listen to anyone that reccommends otherwise and not spend 200 dollars for an xtpe
All we KNOW right now guys is that we haven't seen any 'accidentally' posted sales of these things (like we did with the 7800GTX), nor have we seen any benchmarks. What does that mean? Nothing....the benchmarks ARE there, so the sales might be there tomorrow too.
I don't have time to waste waiting for a card that isn't proven in real life.. Time for me to start SLi and 7800gtx shopping
At this rate...I think the 7800GTX allowed Nvidia to basically capture the video card crown... ATI seriously lost and got really damaged due to this delayed release imo.
yeah this thing better be amazing. i mean kick the :banana::banana::banana: outta the 7800gtx in everything, or ATI is in knee deep. I ended up buying this 6800GT, because of all the delays in the launch of the x800XT... :stick: looks like things are gonna be similar for many people this round too...
Pretty soon, Sapphire will tell ATI to F##K off lol
If the XL can debut at around $450 within a week or so of launch (assuming it's available at launch) ... ATI could just have saved itself.

Yeah and based on history what do you think the odds of that are?
Pure damage control guys...nothing more..if ATI continues this way I hope they will be bought out by another company... :stick:
3dfx 2.0 :(
STEvil
Man havent seen you post for a long time
The possible death throws of a major company will do that...
Nah...3dfx lacked the capital to continue with their development. ATI lost a lot of that shareholder credibility but the market they lost wasn't all that big. (remember, GTX and sli being out only kills less than a third of the "I-think-I've-got-an-uber-dell" market)...Furthermore, companies now reguarly go into Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection to protect themselves from hostile takeovers,if that time comes, and come out swinging after reduction in costs etc.
This isn't a small bump in the road anymore, but its not a major one either.

ok now i am waiting for x1800xt 256 mb in Europe or maybe with :stick:   512
:banana3: :YIPPIE: :bounces:
GDI hardware was wrong. The x1800 does support shader 3.0.
I think the presentation demo at ati.com is excellent and has salivated my interest for the moment; unit of coarse I read on how expensive it will be :)
No, only you were wrong in accusing GDI hardware of being wrong, to be blunt. They were referring to X8x0 (R420/R480 etc.), not X1800 (R520).Quote:
