I noticed on techpowerup some ppl modded the Sapphire GTO2 to 16pipes with high result rate, and some even modded the Connect3D GTO to 16pipes, does anyone else have succes/faliure experience with those or other make off GTOs

the sapphire gto2 is a 16 pipeline card from stock. it is by far the best card for the money right now.

Hexus.net got it to run @ 16 pipes

but is there anyone with them, i know about the websites that had them im wondering what the retail ones do.......the GTO mostly since some seem moddabe, and all GTO2 seem moddable
seems like no one is in a hurry to gamble on these cards.... however newegg raised their price by $20 on their GTO2s.... now they're selling for $219 :(
I have been heared than Connect3D' GTO is unlockable to 16pp

Where did you hear this rumor?
Connect3D GTO: Unlockable to 16pp. Good!
But what's with the clock rate of the GPU and the clock rate of the memory of the card?
How high can he/she clock it? On X850XT PE-clock rates? That would be very nice. :bounces:

From what I've heard the GTO2 is a limited product run meant to get rid of excess R480 inventory, which is why Sapphire doesn't list the product on its own site. (Two other GTO cards are listed.) Of course that's just forum "wisdom." God only knows what ATI is up to these days.
I'm seriously thinking of pulling the trigger on this one, if I can get ~$150 for my X800 XL. According to the sites doing the mod, they've had a 100 percent success rate so far.

I'm waiting mine (GTO²)...
m picking one up to, they are all almost guaranteed to unlock 16 pipes and reach xtpe speeds with no artifacts on air. these will be the cards to crossfire with. i may be picking up two for later
but at stock what are the differences between gto and gto2?
Core speed I think.
the difference is only at unlokable pipes from bios, frequencies are the same, 400/490 :)
Cool....good to know. I thought I saw a GTO2 at 500/490 but I'm starting to think that was something else now ;)
The connect3D 3038 Radeon X800GTO Is only $175 at the egg right now, if you enter the promo code "X800GTO" you can get -$10
thats $180 taxed, and shipped... Im extremely temped, just hope its got the right core in there to unlock to 16pipes... Ive been comparing the saphire GTO2 and the pcb's are identical...

So the x800GTO is the same thing as an x850xt if it unlocks? I hear the ram is the same as well? Could I take down somw x850s with one modded under DI? :D
Who is selling the GTO2?
You certainly could AFI...I'd spend the extra money on the GTO2 though, 100% guarantee of unlocking ;)
The Egg has them on backorder....not sure of any places for Canada though, sorry.

I have a X800GTO², unlocked the 4 pipes successfully, OC'ed to 600/600 with stock cooling/volts. OS show it like a X850 Series after unlocking, as X800GTO before. It cost me 230€ + shipping, a x850XT is at over 350€ at least... :p:
Ewiz for $204.Quote:
