Wow, it looks like Nvidia may have pulled it off. I was surprised by the gains made by these new drivers, especially in Doom III 0_0!
The review was done using the 4800+ from AMD, and a 7800GTX.

Well first off Dual Core CPUs have little more bugs in them then I would like to have. So I think I'll stick with single core FX-57 that I'm going to be getting soon. There fast enough, and there is no reason to use dual core unless under heavey loads with rendering, but even then who wants to render a movie or photoshop while playing Counter-Strike: Source or Battlefeild 2?
Anyways nice find though, and I guess it's good to know that someone is useing the dual core, so when it is needed they will have everything worked out.

almost every .90 amd cpu has cold bug they cant boot @ at really low sub zero temps but that affects single and dual cores that is the only bug....
btw carfax if you can read that or writte the guys of that website tell them to try higher resolution with the candy eye ON to see if the drivers helps a lot or notwith sli 7800gtx runing low res is stupid imo
I didn't know that all AMDs had that bug but no that is not the olny one I read on...I can't remember anymore at the moment but if you dont find them by the time I get home I will try if I'm not busy with essays...

well if it is just 1 is ok... pretty nice fps you can gain with that driver for dual core and you are right a 4000 would be better in the comparission
Why are all the high quality settings so much lower in terms of peformance on the SMP drivers? :stick:

the performance bug is only in the 3dmarks though..in everything else it looks to be fine.
Well, from what I've heard, the multithreaded drivers will not work as well with multithreaded games because with multithreaded games, the second core will be in use by the game itself and not just be idling; therefore less processing power will be free to help the GPU with vertex processing.Quote:

well yeah but that's with dual cores. I was talking about quad cores in the second part of my post. With quad cores you've got two CPUs working both threads from the driver, and the other two working both threads from the game, so nothing's really getting cluttered with too much work.Quote:
