Well...maybe we WILL see multi-threaded games sooner than later. This also explains why the perfomance on F.E.A.R.'s demos were so lousy.

nice find my friend this are great news now i want to see that ppl that said multithreaded games werent coming for this year :P
cool, wish I had a dual core to try it...
expect more announcements like this...multi core is the future...dual cores are the first fledgling baby steps...
i know that UnG but most ppl doesnt they are still in the crap saying single core are faster :S maybe right now they are but not for longer
If this turns out to be true then I'll probably go dual-core. Of course, I'll wait until closer to the games release to buy one so that the CPU isn't crap by then :p:
Sweet. :)
yeah...
im wating this game and this game use Multhi-thread technology
I sure as hell hope this isn't one of them cases, where they only Support Intel and not AMD... cause Intel already sucks for games, and Dual core P4s are hot enough to cook a thanksgiving turkey on...
I sure as hell won't be getting a P4 DC chip anytime soon, so I sure hope it supports X2's...
dual core is dual i think you cant exclude any company :S
I was going to order a Opty 254 and try to get ~3.1ghz but now I'm thinking I might go with a dual core Opty. I still think FEAR benefits from more ram, and getting 2 gigs is the place to start first with next gen games.
yes, something to make my x2 run!
AMD needs to bust out Dual core FX-57/59 :slobber:
________
Plymouth pronto spyder history
:slobber: x2-57 ..... :slobber:
fx59 is still single core but me wants to see some fx dual core powa
I am really doubting it can even fully utilize the WHOLE power of multi-core cpus.
Even John Carmack (iD software) stated that the theory of using the multi-core cpu's for gaming will take at least three years as the there aren't that many current theories.
For an example, look at Quake 3. It has SMP support, but it only worked half of the time.
does the fear demo have this capability?
It doesn't explain why performance of the FEAR demo was so lousy, it just explains that the devs are too lazy to optimize it. Instead they just add in dual core support to make it playable.
I think your thinking of Gabe Newell, John Carmack has never complained about dual core, infact he embraces it.Quote:
