HillBillyOC FX-57 + Phase Change

You might remember some of my posts with this chip on AIR. Well oh my god the VapoChill has arrived =)

Here are some inintial results. I have to go back to work so more to come later. RAM Is loose timings.

Tell me what you think !! Check out the voltages ! This chip has alot more in the tank I think. MORE TO COME !

WOW! That's a nice chip... considering it's probably getting fairly warm at 1.68v with the LS... with some nice -100C temps that's be a 4ghz chip!

All i can say is wow :eek: Awesome clocks with low voltage there and with that small bump up the 3600 benchable is very impressive. Keep on pushing that thing cause it sure is looking like a gem....And by the way, on a vapochill to boot. :toast: congrats

I'm really pleased with this chip so far :woot:

Speedfan did not read above -5C when loaded with superPI @ 1.68v and the evap was around -41C.

I still think its got more left =)

Man removing the IHS got me another 300hz. :toast:

Really nice. All u need is some nice redline so u can run 14*261 2-2-2-5 (3654). That might be able to bring u down to 22sec pi. Hope u can get 3700 benchable.

Ya Im looking to get some RAM that will do 2-2-2-5 say 250+. What is a sure way to get there? Brand, Model Number?

Ive only used TCCD so far. Some nice BH-5 etc.. would be fun to try.

EDIT: Looks like Mushkin XP4000 and the OCZ VX are rated at DDR500 2-2-2

MUSHKIN Redline XP4000 the "only way to fly"... it'll do your 250+ at 3.3v and 265+ @ 3.5v+

but i need to point out that sp2004 not stress ur CPU....
they made a typo.....
the large FFT is the one to stress CPU, but they wrote ram.......
double check on real prime 95 u will understand

Actually its right about the stress cpu, as it does mainly, but large fft's stress cpu just as much and also tst ram subsystem.

i think its possible to run the chip on 3700mhz. succes!

I think this chip needs a nice LN2 treatment....3612 on a Vapo is AMAZING!!

This may be as high as I go on the Vapo. 1.68v is about as high as I think the Vapo can handle? If not What would be the ceiling? Im a noob with phase change.

I tried to hit 3700Mhz with 1.72v but it would blue screen right before windows loaded. I stopped there as Im not really sure how high I can go on the vcore.

Boot at whatever MHz you want (that you know is stable) and at 1.72V....then use clockgen to see what is the SPI maximum.

Though 1.68V might very well be the limit for the Vapo at these clocks and heat output.

Nice OC'ing! THat chip definatily has 4gig potential.

Whoa... Now I feel like a noob lol. Never used clockgen and have no clue what diagnostic boot is rofl... Please elaborate if you have time.

I'll try to research your suggestions. Im trying to find my max Prime stable mark right now.

I've never heard of diagnostic boot, either so I can't comment. Clockgen can be found via google, download the NF4 version. With it, you open it, select clocks, press find clocks, then you can speed up or slow down the htt bus using it. Steps aren't perfect MHz (they vary from .6MHz to 1.5MHz), so don't plan on getting exactly a certain speed. Anyway, dl it and play around a bit.

thats a badass chip you got, congrats.

to diagnostic boot, Start>Run>msconfig>select diagnostic startup and restart.

otherwise, you could try booting in safe mode, which others have also claimed to yeild better overclocks, but I haven't found any real world benefit. to do so, press f8 just before the windows loading screen and choose safe mode boot.
