What's up with the file format? Size seems fine though...
Never mind, googled it..... :slap:
flippin sweet...........someone PLEASE POST how this bios goes...i don't have a workign board or i'd try it....god I hope it's good.
Nice, but I don't want to tamper with it quite yet. Anybody else who flashes to it keep us updated.
LOL, my thoughts exactly...... However unless anybody goes first we'll never know.... :p:Quote:

I'll be happy to report my results monday night..when my replacement comes in...i'm gust gonna go straight to 0509.
Sounds excellent, maybe I'll give it a go tomorrow or maybe I'll wait to hear about your findings..... Any info on whether the "cold boot bug" is gone in the 0509 bios by chance?Quote:

What makes you say that and why did you post it here?!
So there is a coold boot problem?
havent had my LS mounted yes. Waitning for that damm Chillcontrole.
Could someone explain spesifiks about the cold boot problem? So I dont end up having problems on monday :)
No, I found out myself.... Everything else loooks fine though. And 640 owners can now use 14x multiplier through EIST it seems, at least it now has the "minimum" option present.Quote:

It won't boot when you first turn it on. you have to hit the reset button, it just freeezes at the AI Life screenie. It reboots just fine, it's just when it's been turned off for a while that it won't boot straight up. It's not temperature related, at least afaik, so your Vapo LS won't make it any different from air/water colling setups in that regard.Quote:

I don't have this problem with the original bios 0304. However, new bios like 0408, 0422 have that problem. And the newest 0509 doesn't fix this problem yet.
for many it is the shutdown/restart issue....but also when you hard boot from OFF....none of it is really that big of a deal only an annoyance....i wonder if the cap mod fixes the cold boot problem....i've got the caps sitting here, i'm just not sure about voiding my warranty on a new board.
I was worried about the LockFree issue, but got a P5WD2 last week anyway. To my surprise, I had an Enable option for LockFree in the stock BIOS (304) with my 550.Quote:

Do any of the newer BIOS files increase the MCH max voltage at all or is the volt mod the only way?
This is slightly OT...does anyone know that the LS will properly mount to the P5WD2?....i'm concerned about the chokes/caps near the socket.
Besides annoyance, I don't think it's good for the hard drives also.Quote:

No, not with the Mach II GT unit. It's a pretty tight fit, but it fits perfectly.Quote:

I'm not 100% certain but I think maybe the O422 bios is giving me problems when going for high FSB O/C with 5xx cpu
