2GHz X2 (Manchester)

New distributor listings are showing a 3800+ BV scheduled for 25/7. This BV code is the same as the 4200+ and 4600+ Manchesters so while I am not 100% certain it is possible that they might be 2GHz Machester X2's. The price is along the lines of that speculated (350USD) which is actually 20 bucks cheaper than the 3800+ single core (on the disti sites anyway).
Apologies if anyone has posted already about this being on the disti site (I know there are threads re speculation of a lower frequency X2 - this may confirm it).
No sign of 2Ghz Toledos though....

Yeah, the new single-core E6 Venice parts are going to be "BW", so it isn't one of those.

"BV" parts (so far) have been Rev E4 Manchesters.

Interestingly, there is now an X2 4200+ "CD" part listed at AMD, along with the "BV". This is Rev E6. The only question is, is it a Manchester die (147mm^2), or a 1/2-cache disabled Toledo (199mm^2)?

I think the latter is more likely, especially given a nearly simultaneous appearance of BV X2 3800+ and CD X2 3800+. Wouldn't make sense unless one of them is a larger die for which the full cache isn't functional.

It appears that Sparco's X2 3800+ "CD" part may also be 1/2-cache disabled Toledo E6.

remember the 3500+ clawhammer.. it still has the AS identifier that all other s939 clawhammers used. same with the 2800+ clawhammer :toast:

There is no info on the 4000+ but there is info on the 3800+. I think we just assume there will be a 4000+ but in reality THERE IS NO NEWS or ANY INDICATION of a 4000+. If you check the distributor info, they have 3800+s coming in on 7/25, but no sign of a 4000+ at ALL. I think the reason we think there is a 4000+ is that based on the 4200/4400 and 4600/4800 combos we assume there is a 3800/4000 combo. There's more reason to have a 4400+ than a 4000+. Higher cache means lower yields, so a 4000+ would be costly. If it's supposed to be a cheaper dual core, it's gonna be hard to make. So while there still is a chance, don't get your hopes up just because a 3800+ is out.
