Soon you will be able to enable 64 bits for any Sempron just in double click using CBId tool =)
Well seeing whom it's coming from i'de say it's no joke :toast:Quote:

thats why he said soon, not now.
hows that useful? obviously you'd have to boot to a 32bit OS thus making 64-bit useless anyway?!Quote:

or make a program that loads before windows which will switch it on, same way the KTxxx PCI latency patch worked I believe.
yeah can you please give more information.

any asm code for that patch... would be nice if you can patch it on bios level :yepp:
It's not a joke, of course! The final version of CBId 7.5.0.7 is ready, but its time hasn’t come yet. Anyhow, it will be the real sensation! I promise!
Goddamnit, you give us that tool right now! :D
Don't make us wait, or do we need to beg? I will you know :p
What about multiplier ? :p:
only 2600 and 2800 are locked down-ward
goddamn it! GIVE IT TO ME NOW!!! and very many thanks for making that, I thought the sempr0ns 64bit instructions were hardware disabled. must piss of AMD haha well thanks anyway both of you :DQuote:

SOURCES CLAIMED AMD is close to releasing a whole set of cut down Sempron microprocessors which will include iAMD 64 bit support.
That could be as early as the middle of July, according to people close to AMD's plans in Taiwan.
The E6 stepping will use socket 754 and if you want to you'll be able to overclock them to your heart's desire.
The same sources claim the 64-bit Sempr0ns will be released at 2600+, 2800+, 3000+, 3100+ and 3300+ numbers.
Of these the last three will have AMD's Cool and Quiet technology. Nothing more than a simple BIOS update will be needed, it appears.

And here is a link to a picture of the Socket 754 Sempron 3300+ running Windows, note: 2GHz clock, 128K L2, 90nm. And this was an E3 Sempron 3300+ purchased from Newegg! (code "BO", vs. the Rev D "BA"). So they've turned it on early in some E3 parts...

I wonder what they meant by "you'll able to overclock them to your heart's desire."...
unlocked multipliers... :)
AMD said they were going to offically "support" overclocking. So, who knows...we can hope.
