I think that with at least the overclockability of P4 505 but with the added 64bit instructions it will be a tremendous enemy to the winnie 3000+, plus the stable and performant intel chipsets. I'm really interested about the results.

Here my results with the : Intel Pentium 4 - 506
( SL8J8 Costa Rica )
2660 MHz @ 4080 MHz with a alu Intel Boxed cooler.
With: 1,300 volt.
See pictures below.
Impressive for a box cooler...
Omg :o
I seen a screenshot with default volt, Copper cooler at 4.3ghz. IMO the FSB isn't that great but great for OCing the max out of cheaper parts.
So 2 people have got them to 4 ghz on stock voltage/cooling?, my local shop has these retail box w/ mobo for $120 - its not the best mobo, but I'm pretty sure it has fsb adjustment/dividers
Yeah I know a guy thats prime stable at 4.38ghz atm on stock voltage... on air cooler 41c load temps during prime haha
I am testing now with a Vapochill Lightspeed. :D
I have now: 2660 @ 5000 MHz, pifast stable.
Super PI tested at: 5059 MHz
Mainboard: Asus P5P800
Memory: A-DATA Vitesta / DDR 600 / TCCD
Timings: 2,5-3-3-5

SL8J8 Malay
MB Abit AS-8 3eye
On Water.
First 506 was 2.66@2.8 only!!! from china, don't buy it!!!
hrm, non HT p4? :(
I guess it's somewhat cheap, and if you only want to run benches I guess it's fine. But to me, only reason to own P4 is for HT. Just me though :O~!
Would changing to that from the CPU in my sig be an upgrade or a downgrade if i can get it to work at ~4.2 GHz? (Current one isnt 24/7 stable at anything over 3.8 :stick: )
Get another mainboard.Quote:

Intel 915P chipsets don't overclock high.
No Pci-Express lock. :(
Dont really want to change my MoBo now as ill be changing almost everything in 6 months. :(
Then why would you be willing to go down to this chip now? Wit for your 6 months and move up! It's not like your dragging a boat anchor.

Well based on what these chips are doing I think i'll sell my 505 and buy a 506. :)
Frys has these available again for $120 including a mobo
28sec Super Pi 1M and a weak FPU. A64 get those pi time at 2.8GHz. No HT? Hmmm surely not me.Quote:
