Ok, here we go, firts test with Venice 3500+

Hi guys!!

A friend of mine, a great Clocker, gandalfone, has bought a Venice 3500+ and it's awesome :)

But stop talking and start with a load of screen.

Testbed:

- AMD 3500+ Venice CBBLE 0504EPAW
- DFI SLI-DR
- 2*256MB Mushkin BH-5
- 2*6800Ultra
- Zalman 7000

All the screen is on air with Zalman 7000 at vcore default = 1.360V and he doesn't want to make a score with PI, only want to know the quality of CPU and reach the first simple limit

First run, no problem with last version of CPU-Z:

Up with TCCD, but over he has problem to clock the cpu with 1:1, so he put on the Mushkin and...oh you'll see :D :

In the weekend more test will be made, soon we can see this little baby under dry ice, from the serial I think that it can bench really close to pc ice (with 3500+ Venice of s7e9h3n), isn't it?

So guys what do you think about this CPU?? It's the first Venice of the world that go to a normal end user? We're really curious about it :D

Nice chip but as there's nothing Xtreme maybe you should have use the "Venice OC thread" in the AMD section.

I can bench my 3200+ winnie at 2875 on air with my TCCD 1:1. So far venice has nothing for me.

Why is it people with Venice insist on showing overclocks with stock voltage.... and then show nothing else. Yea, it can do what I can with them only using stock voltage, but what is it's max with 24/7 voltage or high up?

From what I've read Venice usually has a point where it doesn't gain anything from more voltage, and it seems to be very low. I'm sure this CPU still has a lot left in it since this is with stock voltage but lets give him some time, these are just the first tests he's run to see how far it would go on stock voltage, I'm sure we'll see him up the voltage fairly soon.

So what happened to 3ghz all the rumors of 3ghz as a possible overclock? Is 2.7ghz all these things can do on air? That's a bit dissapointing because I was looking foward to getting one just to be able to say I had 3ghz.:(

This is only 1 CPU, you can't draw a conclusion about all Venice CPU's from it. Let's just wait for more people to test Venice and San Diego chips before deciding on how good they are.

Not everyone has the proper recipe to overclock to the outer limits you know. People dont have the right psu, weak memory, lack of knowledge or a crappy stepping.
Why dont you buy a Venice 3000+ and show us what you can do with it instead of insulting the guy.

so ive seen venice OC better than the last winnie so i dont know what is expecting the people here...

better clock for clock cpu and still complainigh OC nice than most winnies and is just the begining maybe later they can reach further...

Of course, that's like saying all 3000+ Winnies can do 2.85ghz on air. I'm just saying, why didn't this guy in particular raise the voltage at all?

His memory isn't a problem because A) he runs it at a ratio near stock and B) he has BH5 running at 250mhz, but at 2-2-2-5. He could raise the timings for the sake of testing the processor's potential.

Wow, 33s in SP1M at only 250*10 1:1

I get about 35s with a 9x multi and TCCD 1:1

Well you never suggested that to him. Maybe you should ask him if he would do that? So far, the Venice's are doing much better than the winnies.

Congrats, seems you got a good one there :up: . Seems to me, the review samples have had a little better luck than the regular retail Venices. Here's my old 3500+ (chunkylover77 owns it now):

Awesome. I believe CPU-Z 1.27.6 has support for Venice now.
