Not that I really want it, not even sure what chips they use. I'd stick with gskill if you want 300mhz+ right now, tho it's not guarenteed, you got alot better timings. Specially priced like this.

I was not putting it down, I just laughed at the discription lol. The memory probably IS indeed good, but at that price I'd rather go with gskill which will have tighter timings, although not a guarenteed speed of 317mhz of course, but most hit 300mhz from what I've seen.
The wording on the description is a little cheesy but I think it's just the standard for testing they set it at. I am sure it can do better but atleast you are guranteed to be able to run them at that speed. It's good for some that don't want to risk on testing their luck trying to get a pair of "sweet" sticks.
well i guess they can't make the timings to tight because that would be some sick binning...and they'd get about 50% people RMA'ing because their mobo or CPU mem controller isn't up to stratch and can't handle it...timings always seem dodgy to me..I mean..i can't run my ram at loose timings at all...decent timings or no boot at all..

318x.0825(tax %)=26.25(tax)
318+26.26=344.25(total with tax)
344.25+5(shipping)=~350 bucks OUCH!!
TCCD is expensive ram, the IC's are more expensive than most, thats why with extra speed binning the cost is pretty high.
Just received two sets of gig packs of the 5000. I'll let you know how they do later tonight.

Why not? They are aiming the Xtreme market;).... Didnt you notice that all TCCD are expensive? Its exactly because OCZ pays more for it... While if you compare it with UTT, UTT is one of the cheapest chip on the market.... and the speed binning on these are awesome....

I did some pretty exhaustive testing and switching modules around, and I have come to the conclusion that the 5000 is good for a little bit higher htt, but at looser timings, just like it says. In other words, the 5000 doesn't buy you higher timings than the 3200 or 4000 TCCD's at 300 or under. Personally I don't see any point in running 325 at 3-4-4 when I can run 300 at 2.5-4-3. In any case 2.8v seems to be the most stable in the range form 2.7-3.1. Bottom line, if you have good tccd now, keep them. If you want to run over 300 and don't care that much about the tightness of the timings, try the 5000's. They do go farther than the 4200's albeit loose.
What I wish I could find is some sticks that would do 272htt at 2-2-2 reliably.

Intersting that they dont go much higher than the run of the mill OCZ TCCD based memory considering all the extra binning time OCZ invest in the 5000's.
Did you try some super high HTT speed,since they seem to be binned for that ?
As example my 3200El rev2 do max 1T 2.5-3-3-5 @ DDR 590 and will not scale higher unless 2T and Cas 3 is selected.But if set to to 3-5-5-12 2T *yeah crappy timings * :rolleyes: :p: * they will do DDR 700.
I'm willing to bet these can reach ~ DDR700 at lower timings than mine,which is going to be their main selling features especially with the newer A64 venice core's better mem controllers.
