Was advised they were and given price picked some up. Came and they are definately not UTT, no 2 dots, and side of ram has 4 metal bars in module instead of 2(bh5 are fatter bars, ch5 are thinner bars). For the $$ I'll just give them to a friend for CS, but thought people might wanna know.
These speed premium ones or just non-speed premium ?

If this is what you bought there has always been a risk they would not be the good AA4T chips. What was the part number? CADT?
Those are not the UTT chips. If those are the sticks you bought, you bought the wrong thing.

These are the only sticks with consistant UTT chips.

Actually myself and many others have bought that dual pack and gotten the UTT chips but like I mentioned it's not a gauranteed purchase. Several weeks back when the Speed Premiums and the OCZ VX were higher in price many were buying the Dual pack from Newegg for $112.00 and getting the UTT. Definately riskier/cheaper option but payed off for many. I do agree the speed premiums are pretty consistantly UTT.Quote:

The question was asked by tictac above, but never answered...what is the parts number on the paper sticker of the non-speed premiums TM that you just received?
If they are not UTT then it is important to know the part# so as to be able to add it to the "knowledge base" of what modules to avoid (do not have UTT).
And if you don't mind...what are the rest of the codes on the chips (five digits on the date line and those on the last line). Are they TwimMOS or M.tec labeled?

Twinmos probably noticed the value of UTT chips, and stopped using them in their "vanilla" sticks. I haven´t seen a single "vanilla" (non speed premium) stick that have UTT chips on them made after week 05 of 2005.
I spotted some interesting looking chips from 1GB kit of CL3 ValueRam...
Those chips have similar two dots like Winbond chips, but the two metal pieces on the each two sides of the chip are more narrow than in Winbond chips. Tried these on ol´ good IC7 motherboard, and they ran flawless at 210MHz with 2-3-2-5 latencies (2.6V). I think that Infineon did something to these chips, because they can do CL3 unlike normal Winbond chips.
Raising VDD didn´t help with latencies, so this is basically old CH-5 chip made by Infineon. Order code for the chip is HYB25D256160CT-5.
These chips come on ValueRam sticks relabeled as D3208DLCT-5A

I haven't seen a post anywhere in recent times from anyone saying that they have not gotten UTTs. Partially with that in mind I ordered 4 sticks last week, but since I'm paying by check, I will probably not get them until the end of next week at the earliest. I just wanted to be sure to get some from this current shipment. I would say that your odds of getting UTT are very good.Quote:

One additonal comment on the non-speed premiums...they sold out not too long ago so this is a new batch that they are currently shipping. If the dates on this recent order are early 05, then you can probably write off the non SP from the list for sure...most likely permanently.
Thanks, I've narrowed it down to the speed premiums or the ocz Vx line from Atacom. Both are pretty much gauranteed UTT sweetness. I'll most likely go with Newegg, they always treat me right. So are the SP's usually the 1A4T BH5 chips?
how about the OCZ value ram???? are those always UTT or is a gamble too?
No! The newegg SP are the PC3200 (CH die = AA4T), not the PC3500 (BH die = 1A4T).
I am not aware of anywhere yet in the states that has the PC3500. I sent TM's USA office an email about a week ago requesting information, but have received no response...no surprise there.
These are represented to be unbinned UTT per ryanpgroovy of OCZ. There is a thread in this forum where he details the various products and what chips and what binning takes place with each product.Quote:
