The NEW ABIT NF7-S

Just fired up the NF7-S that I took back with me from Comdex DISPLAY. Tested with both 2200+XP and the 2400+XP and it DID unlock the multiplier factor!! and there are a LOT of options in the BIOS to play around with. Including multiplier factor up to 22x(I think it was 11.5 to 14 by .5 increments and 14 to 22 by 1.0 increments), Chipset, AGP, memory, and CPU voltage adjustments, over 10 options for FSB/DRAM ration such as 3/3 - 3/6, 4/3-4/6, 5/3 - 5/6, 6/6-6/6.

Remeber this is the display sample, there might be more changes in the future on the final production board. BUT I AM HELLA EXCITED! Feel free to post the information in your forum. :)

Between the Epox and Abit, which nf2 mobo you guys think will perform better ?

Dunno but I've just sent a begging e-mail to Leadtek for their version of the nForce2 board...

The million dollar question is whether they did in fact redesign the 4 holes back into the board. Based on the Asus A7N8X I have in my hands now, the NF2 is definitely the way to go. This A7N8X overclocks so well I cannot beleive it is an Asus board:D I can only imagine what ABit will be able to do with this chipset. But without those 4 holes the pooch is screwed. I've tried swapping to the socket clip on waterblock and it just is not as good...can't get enough pressure on the die.

Any "new" word on the 4 holes from Abit?

Presence of the 4-holes...minimum 2.2vcore...minimum 3.0vmem...and Abit has taken at least 1 EPoX customer named N8. ;)

I guess the bios that comes with the rda has a MAX fsb of 200........., although there is another bios already available. I haven't seen anyone say the difference yet. I know there is gonna be hell if thats as far as it will go.

I hope Abit won't screw up and put the holes otherwise i'll ahve to go with another brand :rolleyes:
BTW I've seen a pic of one of the pre production board and there was no hole but it was said that it wasn't definite and that might changed

Boards without holes = crap. Though I'm probably not buying a new board for half a year, so we'll be well Hammered by then, hopefully ;).

Looks mighty good, too bad I just got my ASUS A7N8X-DLX, it's still in the box :( I'm going to get 800 for my B-Day(DEc. 19) and Christmas credit to buy the rest of the stuff.( 2400+, 256Mb XMS3200C2, etc.) in like 4 days all from newegg :), I guess i'll get the Abit if it really outperforms the ASUS or wait to get a Hammer board..

me wonders if thats why the max fsb on the epox is low because of the memory dividers like we get on the intel boards with ddr .... this abit board sounds nice ... might hold off slamming my 2700 into the prommie till i find out more details although i will purchase the epox if there is going to be a fair old gap between em ... cos i want to freeze this chip and see what she will really do .... to many issues with restart with AT7MAX2 at higher fsb release it ABIT i want one to play

I take it back, I thought It was a site or something, I scrolled up and it's a user here ;) sorry I'm new.. :) I swung over here to check some threads here, I migrated here from DSLR(aka dslreports,BBR, broadbandreports)

There is another choice, the Chaintech.....saw the bundle is really nice but then o/c performance.....hmmm recently they just resolved the mult changing issue with bios update.....
