Cpu and Gpu Cascades V2

hi guys

after some time dedicated for scool and girlfriend i'm back for benching and phase-changing heheh i love this

i'm remodelating the cascades
for now the cpu cascade is ready to charge
i must have ethylene whis week

i'll test it, insulate and make a paint job, and add a control painel to turn on, off, read temps and pressures :)

i love my new hx, it is a 3pipes inside another hx with 6meter lengh, and its used for suction hx and a great subcooling too
2nd stage is more strong, now the compressor runs cold. add a condensor for dessuperheater and some more things that isnt ok on 1st version

for now 1 question :D and what about using r410 on 1st stage? the condensor isn't small and the suction hx must do a good job will the pressures be too high?

i'll add pics and results on progress, after this cascade will be gpu cascade
but for now i just want to finish this one and start benching :D

You should be fine with R410 as long as you have a good fan on it.

nice :D and thanks :D i'll try it tomorrow, i'm waiting good temps on this hx and a good eficience due to the 3 pipes for condensing ethylene

R410 is a PIA on first stages. Higher head pressure but it actually will work with a smaller condenser.

LoL, btw i hope that the 1/8in works, you would think it would act as some kind of cap tube and reduce pressures on the other side meaning you need higher pressures on one side but well see ;)

Using the 1/8 tube does give you a pressue drop but this is fine as teh valves operate better in the 10 to 15 psi range.

maybe but that means that the refrigerant will eaporate or take alot of cold to condense. unless you are thinking that its evaporating in the 1/8in which is not the case.

well... the results arn't the one i dream...

i'v 2 probes on hx, one on the midle on hx and another on the end.

the best i see is -52 on midle probe when i'm chargering.

with sistem charged i'v:
-45 on midle
-42 on end
pressure bewind compressor and condensor is 175psi
pressure sution is +-2psi

when i start the 2nd stage with r410 too the sistem goes to:
-40 on midle
-37 on end
pressure go to 190psi +-

maybe the cappilar is to short? to long? maybe must remove the 2meter of 1/4 pipe for suction hx i'v arround hx or maybe must use r404a

need options from you experts :D

I think that is way too long for first stage. REmember taht youll have to remove teh heat from second stage as well as CPU/GPU:)

well i dont know, but it is handling load nice and is quick to get al hx frosted... but dont make good temps, thats why i think i need to add cappilar

i can't get good valves yet here on local shops :(

i think i'll get a good Pev for 2nd stage, but for now 1st stage need to use cappilar...

well, better results now. i get the 1/4 pipe from hx (suction hx) and now it is a classic hx, 3 pipes inside another.

i use 8.2ft of .031'' cappilar. results:
with a good charge of r410 (all hx frosted and a litle of suction)

probe1: located on midle of hx
probe2: located on top (end of hx, near suction)

idle:
probe1: -52
probe2: -51.8
pressure: 175psi / -0.1 psi

when i turn on 2nd stage charged with r410:
probe1:-44
probe2:-43.9
pressure: 204psi/0.2psi

after 2nd stage running:
probe1: -47
probe2: -47
pressure: 190psi/0psi

i think it is nice, but for testing i try 1 thing: make 2nd stage overcharged, with frost on compressor, i know it make very big more load on 1st stage, and dont know why but from experience on other versions of cascade i'v seen that r404a or r410 on 2nd stage make a bigger load on 1st stage than with ethylene.
the results with 2nd stage overchaged:

probe1: -30
probe2: -28
pressure: 200psi/0.3psi+-

e need ethylene and some load on evaporator to tune it fine, but that you think? or r410 dont handle big loads, or the cappilar arn't tunned for r410+big load.
i'll wait for ethylene to test it real
anyway, anyone have maked a system with r410? what can tell about cappilar/big loads?

ha, the first stage compressor is a r404a aspera 1/3+hp and 2nd stage a danfoss sc21cl, 3/4 i think
