i'm looking to ditch the poorly mounted stock heatsink and fan that is on my Gainward 6600GT GS GLH PCIe card.
is there any aftermarket cooling solutions out there yet for this card?
if so links plz, preferably UK links :)

there you are sir, i think these are the best of the air coolers. Arctic cooling really makes good vga coolers
Agreed.
They perform very well, are very quiet, and cheap too.
Poorly mounted is an understatement with the Gainward, agree with the other two posters on the choice for a none extreme workaday hsf.

Yes, get one of the NV Silencers. They do the job.
Just curious how the Zalman VF700-Cu compares to the Arctic Cooling solution suggested in this thread. Anybody ever test the two of them side by side?
my advice on that would be look for reviews by sites that overclocked the cards and compare how high they each got.
overclocking on this card is somewhere between 560 and 580 stock.
i did a little mod with 2 nuts as seen in shamino's article on the card and managed to get 590 out of it stable.
pushed it to 600 for 3dmark01 runs, letting it cool down between each test.
this card has the 3mm mounting holes around the CPU so i found that the Zalman VGA heatpipe cooler will work on this card, and looks cool aswell :)
anyone with any experience on the zalman heatpipe? is it any good?
*edit* i notice the arctic cooling is not available in the uk :(
Ive read some reviews that like the ThermalTake Extreme Giant III. Anyone wanna back them up there, is it a good cooler or no?

Mind you this was on the 9800 pro, not a 6600gt. So I don't know if there is any real heat differences between the two cards or not.
