I'm buying a NEO2 and 3500+ winnie.. need some help!!(many questions inside)

Hi guys, i'm buying a mobo/cpu/heatsink/ddr booster to replace my old AXP+DFI INFINITY and to go with what i allready have in my OCing setup, but before i do this i need a little help & advice..

If you look on this page (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatal...ocket_939.html) from overclockers the MSI Neo2 Platinum looks different from the normal black pcb and has a totally different layout, however, the MSI K8N Neo2-54G Platinum Wi-Fi Edition seems to have the usual layout. My question is which one shall i go for and what are the differences between the two revisions? I am planning to use my microcool NorthPole on the chipset and an XP-120 to cool the CPU, will i have any problems fitting them?

Also, i heard somewhere that i will have to flash the mobo before it will boot with a winchester, is this true? I can't afford to buy a newcastle just to flash the damn thing lol!

My planned setup:
3500+ winchester (cooling: Thermalwright XP-120 & 120mm YS-Tech)
NEO2 Plat (cooing: Microcool NorthPole)
2X512mb OCZ platinum LE BH-5
OCZ DDR BOOSTER(!)
x800 pro vivo->XT w/VGA Silencer
Antec TrueControl 550w

I am also worried about the vga silencer being too large for the northpole to sit in it's place, if so perhaps i would be better off the red pcb layout?? or is this just a wrong picture on their website?

Anyway, please help!

dont know the difference between those two, but i have the -54G version
and i works like a charm :D

xp-120 will fit after you bend some caps which are located next to the socket.

newer boards, with serial K0410 or K0411, have a newer bios on them(bios1.3), which allows you to boot a winchester right away :)
could be that k0409 has bios1.3 also standaard on it, dont know for sure tho..
you can find the serial on the side of the mobo box

don't bother getting 54g version, do you really need wifi??

most vendors selling this mobo probably have the latest batches with firmware already flashed to latest ones.

my Asus a8v deluxe 2.0 rev won't boot with Newcastle now that i flashed it to bios 1008. can somone send me a winny? i give it back, i promise.

hmm you got me questioning here...
i know that the xp-90 fits for sure,
dont know about the xp-120 anymore :D

edit:
the xp-120 isnt on the compatibility list because you have to bend some caps away. Those caps seem to hit the heatpipes.
But if you bend some, it will fit :)

Thanks for all the help :) ill go for the wifi version to make sure, its not alot more expensive :P

And yeah i heard about bending the caps, i allready have a 120mm ys-tech so i think ill go with the xp-120 simply because of it's weight, unless someone can tell me that the Gigabyte 3d pro (i think that's it's name) is ok inside a case that isn't lying on it's side (i hear it's dangerously heavy).

I should post here more hehe, ill let you know how the OCing goes :)

check THIS post out (BIG pics) sure, you can fit the 120 on there but it gets in the way of EVERYTHING!
i took mine off after spending 20 min to get the ram in and then NOT being able to put in my VidCard...Zalman (top) HS hits the pipes
