It will be interesting what those top benches will do to cool them.. built another dual cascade for the secund card? ;)
10K is a pancake now, 15K is more like it ;)
2k5 is very little cpu dependant as the percantage results i posted show. it almost constantly scales with around 75% compared to a single solution. that means a single card that pulls 5600 would pull 10000 if you add another card in sli that is clocked at the same speed.
so if you have a system with a 6800 card that scores 8500 im sure you would get 15K if you add another card with the same clockspeeds to the system. :D
and with nf4 we hopefully get some small performence boosts, 90nm a64s are also slightly faster at the same clockspeed compared to their 130nm parts and oc slightly higher, and the fx55 on 130nm seems to also oc a little higher than the fx53. so 15K is def the next thing everybody will be looking for :D
here, shows pretty nicely how cpu dependant doom3 is and how gpu dependant 2005 is. looks like 2005 is indeed 99% gpu dependant :)

This is great and all, but is it the best nVidia can do to truely compete with ATI.....slap two cards together? I wanna see these numbers with two XT's running together and I need GF4Ti to predict the results;)

double the power for such a small boost in halo, doom3 is the most gpu intensive game so far so the boost is bigger but other games, including halo youll get around a third more fps for double the gpu power. Diminishing returns is why I am sticking with my ti4200 and softmodded 9500np, they perform great because of my cpu power. A faster card isnt gonna gain me a whole lot more, id rather save my $ as for 3dmark 2003, 2005 its not reprensative of games because like I said, its too ignorant of my cpu. I could stick a 1GHz cpu and get over 5k in 2005 but games would be unplayable with this little cpu power to hadle the physics
its very neat..but i doubt u can put a cooling on both cards..and as they are work is evenly distributed, even if one card is clocked high, it will only match the speed of the lower clocked card...im hoping im correct?

VERY few people can afford *two* $500 cards then youd need to watercool em or take your rig outside one winter morning. cascade or phase change wont fit the 2nd card
at least sli scores now make sense but i still thikn if they dont oc then i dont want them (and i will buy a fx cpu lol :D)
we dont know how sli works yet, but the chances are high that there will be no problem with overclocking at all as long as both cards are running at the same speed.Quote:

Assuming nobody will use turnwater when nforce4 is out then ATI's and Intels turn at the top in 05 will be a very short affair.
Most expensive looks like the 6800U and FX55 option but I think a better system for gaming and some benching would be to spend on two 6800GT's ( assuming they do overclock in this setup ) and an AMD 4000+. The saved money can be spent on trying to get two really good sticks of RAM and lots of Kleenex for al lthe exciting times :)

no point getting 4000+ when the fx is like the same price or you can get a winchester for less than $200 and the loss of cache will cost you all of 20 points in 3dmark 2005

they couldnt make the bridge longer because then theyd need special mobo's with further apart slots. (maybe a manufacturer will hear our cry)
