Which program you use for modding bios??? Can you tell me name of programs for bios modding and where to find them? Pls!
Hello Dis@ster
Go here Use modbin6 build 1.00.38 to unlock hidden options. I modded 3 bios for Abit IC7, IC7-G & IC7-Max3 All worked perfectly although I need to reinstall WinXP after flashing. There were too much options I disabled before flashing and I forgot which options to set in BIOS again after flashing.
I will host these BIOS if someone recommends a free hosting site, but you should try modding it yourself. It's a great experience :D Note : only unlock the hidden options, touch nothing else, a bios saviour might come in handy sometimes :p:
I managed to delete the CPU multiplier off the menu (it didn't change my multi though but the default multi was 8 - this can't be changed), also enabled Spread Spectrum (hidden) which was disabled by default anyway. I also enabled a few other hidden features :
1. CPU Thermal Monitoring 1, including FSB :D (for Prescott E-0 I think) but I'm using Northwood
2. CPU L1 & L2 Cache [Enable] [Disable]
3. IDE HDD Block Mode
4. Force Update ESCD
There are many more hidden stuff but I don't need them e.g. Keyboard Typematic Speed, ACPI & power saving options etc etc
To use these utilities it's best to boot to DOS or use emulator, don't use command.com or cmd in Windows XP etc.
Modbin6 1.00.38 - to enable hidden features/change values on the BIOS menu, you will see a Bill of Materials (B.O.M) style menu
Cbrom/Cbrom6 - used to extract modules from same type BIOS and append into target BIOS.
Biosview - allows viewing of BIOS .bin file (read-only), useful after modding, used to verify mods before flashing
ASUS BIOS are more tricky, couldn't do it. I'd be really grateful if someone can show me the way :D The real scoop will be extracting modules from other bioses and append to your board's bios. Would appreciate the fine skills of a bios modder here :D

ya just use modbin.. you will be happy with it ;)
Thanks guys! I'll try. By the way I have soltek SL-86SPE-L motherboard. Will this program work with my motherboard bios?
I have tried modbin but it crashed, maybe you can tell me which version of modbin works with current ASUS boards. I have tried popular ASUS boards (PC-DL Xeons, P4C800-E P4-478, P5GD2 P4-775) but no-go. Thanks.Quote:

How can i use my bios with modbin since its not a *.bin file? They are all named w7030nms.xxx (numberic version 140-150 etc).Should i just rename this file in to what i see during post (bottom of screen) with a .bin extension or is there another way and which one is it?
My board is MSI K8N Neo Platinum.
just rename the ext into .bin
that will do the job ;)
