I have a 3400+ (c0) on a gigabyte K8NSNXP, with 2x 512 Mushkin 2-2-2 special (BH-6). it all runs fine on stock speeds (of course). But when i OC the ram just 1 mhz (yes ... 1 mhz) it fails prime 95 within 10 mins. timings were 2-2-2-6, but even with 2-2-2-15 ...same results (and any higher timings i won't settle for with this ram). it can't be the CPU, since it can handel a 1 mhz OC, can't be the mobo, the vdimm is 2.9v ...so wot am i doing wrong...:confused:
don't think it's the a64, it's prolly the board
well, most likely it's the 2x512MB problem, not the BH-6.

Well IMHO A64 LOVES BH-5/6 just look at sig, but humm im not sure of your problem, areyou using 1t, or 2t....
im using 2t ...
i can't see how it can be the board :confused: runs fine.
or maybe i just got some uber crap memory :eek:
i tried it with 1x512 stick and same result ...so can't be the fact that my CPU is a C0.
Could be low voltage to the chipset. I had read somewhere that if you add agp voltage it helps the chipset a lil. I am running the same memory on a K8VNXP mobo and a 3200+. The memory doesn't OC well on this board cause giga crap only supplies up to 2.7 v in bios and said they will not support any higher.
As far as what I remember the CO doesn't support 2T. That was only supported with the CG revision.

oki, i'll try giving it more Chipset voltage (theres a bios option) and also maybe more vdd voltage? and change it to 1T.
i also get my other 3400+ back from RMA soon (CG) so i hope it will be another CG. so further testing will come then ;)
Up your vdimm to 3.3v and it will run better, but it will never clock like 512MB would. If you insist on running the same memory on your benching system as your gaming one (meaning you only have one system and don't want to swap memory for benching) you need to decide what's more important to you. Benching (512MB) or gaming (1GB)? I have 2x256 BH-5 for benching and 2x512 KHX 3200 CL2 for everything else. Lately I'm finding the KHX to be faster even though it can't run the tight timings BH-5 can, because it's stable at 488MHz with stock volts.

Well actually this new A64 rig, is for gaming ...but still i just can't help myself OC it a little. Running on air now, and soon on water. My P4 rig is for benching with MACH II and WC. so i guess its not that important that it don't OC well.
I tried T1 and i can now OC upto 205mhz ...wooppiieee :D :D but i guess it's the vdimm, i think the max on this board is 2.9v, cud be even 2.8v, since i can't find the reading point (in bios vdimm just says: AUTO, +0.1v & +0.2v).
I have a K8VNXP and in the bios, it reads the same. Auto is 2.5v, so you can only go to 2.7. This is a big problem for BH-6 I can only get about 208 out of my gig of Mushkin, and yes I tried with 1 stick as well. It made it to 210.
I put the same gig in my NF7-S with 2.9 v @2.96 in bios, went to 228 stable no problems. I have talked to gigabyte about the 2.7 max because even the manual that came with mobo said 2.8v max, but all the responses I get are, we are not currently supporting 2.8 vdimm. The board is made to run at 2.5 v stable, so we will NOT add the option of 2.8 vdimm.
Personaaly I think the circuitry is crap and it will surely blow if they try.
I blew a hole in the circuitry on the back of the mobo using 2.6vcore. It was the circuitry that came from the DPS. My board runs fine, and I just tossed that POS DPS to the side.
