Geforce 4 ti 4600 vmod

I've been folowing the forums for a while now but I have a question.

I want to vmod my chaintech geforce 4 ti 4600 (pic included)
This card is getting rather old so a vmod can give a nice boost.

current overclock : 325/705 Mhz
The gpu is watercooled so heat is not a real problem

Af far as I know the Gpu vcore is 1.66V
I would like to set it to 1.85V (get some more mhz out of it)

I included a picture of the back so can someone say what resitor i need to solder over what pins (solder skills are ok ;))
I prefer a fixed resitor but a pot is possible to.

edit: can someone also point me the spot where i measure the volts over the core

Check the spots I marked in the pic and see if you can read Vgpu at either of those places. Just because default is around 1.66v, does not mean your card is at that voltage. The standard mod is with a 10K VR, but we need to make sure you are at, or close to, default Vgpu. If not, then you may need a higher resistance VR for the mod.

At the top of the page is a Search Function...you are likely to find answers there before someone posts them on a thread. Especially for older hardware.

Its a 4200, however, the PCB layout is exactly the same as the 4600, as to all intents its a 4200 core on a 4600 PCB :)

To be safe...best to find the caps that are reading the Vgpu and go from there.

It appears thay some cards are using the SC1175 for Vgpu, while others use it for Vddr.

If I messure between the 2 pins of the capacitors I get

1.20V on the 2 capacitors above the S/n sticker

and 2.79V on the 2 under the sticker

Where can I find the Gpu vcore (it is not 1.20 is supose)

2.79v sounds like Vddr to me.

Try caps near the bottom of the board by the SC1102 chip.

Ok is measured the caps near the bottom next to the white dot sticker and its 1.6-1.64 V :D (we have a winner)

Now I just have to solder a 10K ohm pot to the legs on the chip in the left corner. And lower the resistance until I get proper volts.

The chip is a bit smaller than the otherone (than the vddr)
Whitch pins are it ?

Confirm for me what the markings on the chip are bud. I am guessing its the SC1102 chip.

If so, then the mod is at pins #11 (Sense) and #14 (GND), and use a 10K VR.

Sorry I'm not at home at the moment I will post the chip's markings tomorrow mornig.

Check the resistance between pin #11 and #14 and post that just so we can be sure that 10K is enough resistance.

The typical defaults have been around 2k-3k ohms in the past.

Can you show me what pins are #11 and #14 cuz im not so sure about it (never have messured on a Ic) :rolleyes:

Hell-Fire I'm planning the same mod on a Gainward, I take it the choice of VR is the same really cus most were based on reference board design, chip numbers match up with that of Twisted net's board. Take it if the resistance is also ~2-3k then its good to go?

sorrt but ive noticed that theres a diode mod required for the memory volt mod, is that still so or just specific to the board they used?

Ok long time but I dit it last week (finely some time to get the system down and do the mods)

Gpu voltage @ 1.75 now (for testing) and stable @ 347 mhz on this geforce4
Thats alsmost 25 mhz more and only 0.1 V more gonna go to 1.85v for further testing.

What volts are good for 24/7 on plain watercooling and what's the most commen clocks for that voltage.

I know its an old card but still i want to get the max out of it.

ps: also did the droop mod on mobo (helps a lot :D )

This is ok?
1.) GPU (default 1.66V)
SC1175CSW > pins 18@20
> 1Kohm resistor - volt from 1.65~1.66V to 1.81V.
> 5Kohm resistor - volt from 1.65~1.66V to 1.93V.

2.) Mem (default 2.8V)
SC1102CS > pins 11&14
> 1Kohm resistor - volt from 2.8V to 2.95V.
> 720ohm resistor - volt from 2.8V to 3V.

An variabil resistor it is ok?
