What stable speeds with OCZ 3700EB and what timings to expect?

I am thinking of giving a shot at the new OCZ 3700EB modules.

at the mo my 2.8 is at 286fsb and i get errors in prime with my OCZ LE 3500 BH5 so i am thinking of getting some new ocz sticks


i love low timings and i think these modules will do 2.5 2 2 5 no worries right?

whats the expected max stable fsb with these timings and say 3.3V through them?

what can they do 1:1 with the same voltage and what timings?

really looking for rough numbers...just to think whether i should get some or just run my bh 5 @ 2 3 3 5 to get them prime stable instead...

cpu does 286fsb for now prime stable and i am gonna push for more the following days...

go for the pc 3500 they do up to 280 1:1 at cl 2, not sure about the new pc 3700 though

it did 255fsb @ 2 2 2 5 turbo enabled etc but it aint stable...

from what ive read none of the eb ram will not run cas2. it runs 2.5, and theres no difference in performance between the two..

if you running BH-5 @ 286 1:1 I would hold on to what you have


If your planing on running 5:4 (228) I see no problem with running eb 2.5-2-2 , Though on the 875 chipset ( IC-7 original especialy ) Eb seems to prefer 3-2-2 or 3-3-2 above 230

With 3.3 volt who knows what you can do , you should be prepared to put a fan on the memory at that speed though

i am using the ocz 1gb PC 3500 Limited Edition BH 5 modules...

they did 255fsb @ 3.3V @ 2 2 2 5 turbo ,enabled etc ...no cooling at all but they werent even close to stable...

prob is now that i am running 290 prime stable and still testing higher every day but with my ram @ 3:2
at 5/4 i was getting prime errors after 2 hours...

so my ram aint stable at a lot lower than 255fsb.

so what i want to achieve is 290 fsb 1:1 with some type of ram prime stable though with some good timings...i know its not doable so yeah some 5/4 ram that would do those speeds prime stable would be my target or 1:1 capable ram with the same performance of 5/4 :p

These 3700 are supposed to do ras to cas 2 right? like 2.5 2 2 5?

could you tell me what did those sticks prime stable at 2.5 2 2 5 for example wich is the tightest timings you can run i guess and then @ other timings their max stable speeds?

is there any 300 fsb guarranteed ram out there prime stable?

i have been through soooo many sticks of ram this year...people here remember me from that...5/4 issues...c**p overclocking and loads more...

i kept these ocz cos they are the first ocz sticks that i bought and amazed me...wanna keep it like that

The 3700EB seems like the best ram to get tbh....high fsbs @ low timings...and tight timings at low fsbs...i guess no 5/4 issues nore 1:1?

My BH-5 can do 3d at 257 at other benches at 261.

Me and a few other guys at ABX forums are having issues with the 3500 EB's and 5:4 divider on the Asus P4C800 series of mobo's.

When I posted my benchmark results in the other big EB thread earlier at 225mhz, I compared the EB's Cas 2.5 against the BH5's Cas 2 at x-2-2-5.

I was interested to see what impact Cas 3 would have on the EB's. So I set the timings to 3-2-2-5 at 225mhz.

No boot.

System refused to post.

Put back to 2.5-2-2-6, ejoyed the speed and thought nothing of it.

That was with 5:4 divider and a few other people have reported the same problem.

Basically, I think the EB's are having issues with Cas 3 enabled with the 5:4 divider. 1:1 overclocking with Cas 3 is not effected.

My 2 x 512MB of OCZ PC3500EB's are currently running along at 225mhz, 2.5-2-2-6 and 2.85v. That's with the CPU at 282mhz and the 5:4 divider.

Intel P4 2.8M0 that does 313fsb max

Did more progress with prime again...its prime stable at 293-295fsb so i prolly need some 1:1 300fsb capable ram thats stable or some 5/4 ram thats got good timings

dont want to push more than 1.75V through my chip for 24/7 really but i may do so the target is about 300fsb stable really need some advice on what ram to choose now...

This happens on Asus P4P800's as well as P4C800's.

hmh i tried my OCZ BH 5 @ 3 4 4 8 and guess what... no boot either :p...had to clear cmos in my P4C800E..dunno if thats normal for BH 5...

Hmmm... might be just that Asus boards don't like Cas 3 and the 5:4 divider.

but guess what

@ 2.5 4 4 8 IT WORKS....

these were the timings of my board when clearing cmos to get it alive again...

99% its a board issue i guess

Surely your BH5 can do that already?

I've got 2 x 512mb of the PC3500 EB modules.

No point spending more money when you've got ram that's more than capable of doing what you want it to do.

You've got cracking BH5 capable of high speeds and timings.

OCZ EB is for us peeps looking for BH5 performance that is available to buy in the shops, not for ridiculous amounts on Ebay.

Absolutely no use imho for people with decent BH5 already.

I'm hoping OCZ EB tech will filter it's way up through their product chain.

The 5:4 divider rarely works on the ASUS boards with most RAM. It's a good thing I think that the EB will work at 5:4 at CAS 2.5 settings. The EB really is optimized for CAS 2.5. It can work in most situations 1:1 at CAS 3.
