Just changed my ABIT MAX3 with an ASUS P4C800-E and after making some modifications I put on her a PRESCOTT 3.0 and those are the first results.

Those are my first results and they are very surprising after all those rumors about PRESCOTT’S. For me it’s a fine CPU with a lot of capabilities but with no benchmarking software support yet.
Radical,Man:slobber:
What temps are you at with your MachII?
Where did you buy it?:toast:
Not bud tems at all. Full load at ASUS probe -32 - -28 and at MACH II -60 - -54, depens of room temps... :)
O yes i baught it from Greece because i live there.
What do you mean by no benchmarking support ?Quote:

:toast: Nice OC !
Just a doubt...you said that you changed your IC7-MAX3 for an P4C800-E and did this OC...you couldn't do it with the MAX3?? the results were better in Asus or Abit??
Stepping on that CPU?
My 3.0E goes to 3.7Ghz on watercooling.. (primestable) 1.43v..

I' m not sure that the benchmarking programs can suport the new PRESCOTT'S instructions like SS3.
No i wasn't able to do it wth MAX3. But after the modifications on ASUS those are the resaults.Quote:

very good:slobber:
Always good to see people pioneering with the Prescott :toast:
i thought IC7's were better for prescotts  ...nice OC tho :)
how high cud u get with ur MAX 3?
It answers my post I did a week ago, I got the same MB and I was asking everyone if Prescott would be a great buy, here's my answer, good OC keep going aristidis
It seems that the Max3 doesn't like Prescott since a lot of people reported the mobo being burning to the touch. Not sure if those people cooled the mosfets though.

Ôhat was the problem not high at all. Up to 290fsb and no more specialy with deviders.
Wow... thats just sickening! I'm guessing you have the Droop + VDimm on the P4C?
Meh don't mind my idiotness tonight SWG turned me into a zombie...
I thought there was a 270FSB wall for the P4C tho? Someone want to clear that up for me? Thanks,
`s
Yes i have done the drop mom on P4C. but also i have put 6 extra mofsets so the vcore power is very stable.
Would you mind explaining that in little more detail?Quote:

You can add 6 more mofsets beqause they are missing in that board, so with the drop mod the vcore power is very sable and strong specialy for the power needs of a PRESCOTT.:)
nice :D
very impressive oc! when i get money i will buy a p4c800..(my ic7-max3 died) run 3dmark01 and 03 please!
What kind of MOSFETs did you use?
Is your stepping SL79A? Mine is SL79L an it dont overclock so good.. 4.35Ghz in R404 Mach II is super pi stable. Max pic stable is 4.5Ghz.
edit: I have done the droop mod, vcore mod, agp mod and vdimm mod.
vcore mod on p4c800e? could you show me a pic.
i can't go past 1,6V in Bios as most other people which becomes 1,65V because of droop mod
