Safety When Working With Refrigerants

When you work with refrigerants you must have the proper safety equipment, What is this? Mostly personal protection equipment. Safety glasses, Thick gloves, Long sleeves, Steel toed boots,Long legged pants, Full face shield when charging, Body armor when working with the super high pressure refrigerants (thick leather vest chaps or other) Always inspect your equipment before use (look for nicks in the hoses of torn or worn gaskets< for electrical inspect your test leads discard any leads with nicks or wear) When welding keep a fire extinguisher nearby and if possiable have help set up a fire watch, always inspect your hoses for nicks wear and leak test them every day before use. Always close all valves and open all power sourses before working on any piece of equipment. Always work safe... If in doubt don't do it ask for help. We do not want any injuries.
