1st link, cinebench and firestrike scores are low... Stock settings for cpu freq and just playing with memory scores higher on an x370.

Question remains, can they run 4 sticks of mem @ 3200, or does it revert back to slower speeds? (Like 32 gb set)

How high can you go with 2 sticks without overvolting? 3200?

Depends on sticks and density, but I'm landing at 3733 as a sweet spot for daily.

Verified broken on x370 4x b-die single rank. wont post. wont mention board etc just yet but I doubt its board specific and most likely an agesa bug still.

Nothing yet. I'm trying to get a feel for which speed grade I should look into buying for the 2700X system I'm building. I want to purchase memory that will allow me to get to the edge of what the IMC is likely to support instead of being limited by the memory itself. As such, I was soliciting whatever results people were willing to share. I plan to run two single rank 8 GiB DIMMs.

what do you consider over-volt? within what xmp defines? within what is available on market? (1.35-1.5)
If I were in the market, personally I would start looking at 3600+ c16.
c16 3600 kit plays nicer than the c15 kit I also have. Running vdimm at 1.42 and some minor voltage fiddling on the imc side (nothing crazy, slight bumps,) c16 (xmp set, timings auto) 3800 is achievable daily. If I just want to hit xmp profile (timings auto) + 3733 the rest can be set auto. I prefer 3733 because clear cmos then set 2 things, xmp and memory frequency, save and reboot. The sticks I use are b-die trident-z, and they appear to clock on the better side of things from what I have seen compared to similar sticks.

Thats not exactly encouraging, my friend has 2x16gb B-die on taichi and runs 3200mhz on 1600X :-/ , would you say IMC is better on 2xxx than on 1xxx ?

Strange, I had 2X16GB Gskill 3200 dimms running fine with an 1800X so I'd assume it should be no problem for the 2700X.

The numbers above I re tested some and I stick with those as a soft rule ymmv some but I doubt more than one speed grade up with stability to run 8x overkill in x265 encoding.
This launch will be far better than Ryzen last year. I doubt we will see another bricking fiasco.

Odd, I can boot 2x8GB 3800Mhz with nearly zero issue. 3866 is where I hit the wall on x370 giga k7 gaming and voltages need to rise above what I care to set it to for initial testing.

I can run 3800 but its on the edge. I looked into AMD notes and I will update tomorrow.

Are you seeing a bigger impact on performance with memory frequency or timings? I'm wondering if 3200 at CL14 is a better bet than say 3600 at CL16. G.Skill doesn't advertise any AMD friendly kits beyond 3200. I'm assuming they're just Samsung B die modules and that some of their others are as well, even if not marked.

It's amazing to see how amd cpus is so close to overpower intel cpus, the increment in performance to ryzen was 60% and then to ryzen+ 3%. Still 10% slower on single thread overall but that might change with ryzen 2.

For gaming at 1440 or higher coffee lake makes no sense x rizen+ which means that unless intel releases a 10nm, things will be tough for intel as i see no point having a intel cpu anymore.

that comment makes no sense
if your gpu bottlnecked badly enough it doesn't matter if your running a 7 year old cpu or the latest and greatest

any way you can check your msi against a gaming k7 x370? I have the m7 x470 now as well and compared to previous testing on x370... the board is slower in cine and 32m at same freq and timings. wondering if you are seeing the same thing.
memory ceiling is no different between the boards as well.
