Looking good, first time I like the Sapphire blue. Looks like it will take two and half slots. Probably only some games in high resolution like 4K will benefit from 8GB RAM and maybe mining.
Wish they they include HDMI 2.0 output to support 4K at 60Hz
3 x 4k monitors :D
Looks really good, I like the cooler design. I wonder if this card will perform close or even outperform the 780TI or the new Titan Black though.
But seriously, I wish third party vendors would start implementing HDMI 2.0 on their cards, and not every 4K TV has a DisplayPort to run it at 60Hz.
be careful guys if you think about 290X 8GB CF or CFX and Eyefinity
take a look at this http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/sho...8576425&page=2
if dont use links then go to forums overclockers uk / hardware /graphics cards / display port issue r9 290x ...
Cant wait for all the "miners" to push the prices of these cards well above the stupid MSRP they will come out @. YAY for mining!!!
Don't hate the player, hate the game :)
8gb .. wow. wonder when 4gb will be mainstream for vid cards.
Since amd his switched to a 512bit memory bus, any new cards based on that core design will feature 4gb of ram. This should include most if not all of their next gen mid range as well.
o0o ty for the info, ace.
Thats a pretty big assumption there, they`ve "switched" to 512bit a LOOONG time ago, yet its only the second card from amd to have 512bit bus and between the 2900 an 290 (o shesh i just now made the connection with model numbers) is a pretty big time gap.
Anyhow, is there even one scenario when 8gb is REALLY needed ? I doubt 4gb is used 95% of the time.
