been shopping newegg and not looking to exceed 700$ (give or take) and I can go either Haswell/IB/ or AMD 8350 builds.... just a little gaming PC and been out of this industry for about 2yrs, looking to see which option would be the better choice for games? Which ever way i go, my 7950 will come with bioshock, anf fc3 and cant wait to play those games..... so which option is the better choice? Thanks so much
do you need everything, what about windows, do you have a case/psu to reuse?
also, do you know anyone who works retail that has an intel retail edge account that they would order the summer sale for you?
Get an i5 3570k or 4670k. If you can get to a micro center, they have cpus in store only cheaper than other places.
The FX-8350 is an exceptional value and overclocks well. AMD mobos are also generally less expensive than Intel and the AM3+ mobo should be good when Steamroller is released in early '14.
You should check online to see how the FX-8350 compares to an equally priced Intel CPU for the specific games that you play. The better the game software is written the more effective the FX-8350's 8-cores are.
am3+ board are about 50% more than the socket 1155 stuff. they are cheaper than the 2011 stuff but he would not be looking at that. the amd chips are also much slower with games as far a cpu will change it, but the 3570k and 83xx are the same price when you factor the MB in.Quote:

might be getting a little side tracked in here.... What im reusing as i have laying around is a Crucial M4 SSD, PCP&C PSU, ASus 24" lcd, and a gigabyte case. Only goal for this pc is to play the 4 killer ass games that come with the AMD 78xx/79xx series GPU's. Not looking for OCing records, BUT OCing will happen, but rather just a minor one, nothing special. Ive been youtubing benchmarks for the last 2 days and really am thinking this is a toss up. FX8350 seems like a great cpu for the money, and haswell seems like a solid choice too... damn i hate choices like this

are you kiddnig, you linked a full first few pages of amd 7xx and nvidia chipsets. a good intel board like the asrock pro 3 is $99, but if we look at 990 chipsets amd starts with over $100 and the cheapest board with a good pwm and heatsink on them is the asrock extreme 4 or asus evo for $140.Quote:

i have more amd chips than intel in my house right now, but ATM amd is not competative in any market that you dont need the gpu on the apu, and if you are near a microcenter it is not even close.
