Has anyone run into any problems with the mcr320-xp fan holes not actually lining up with a 120 fan? ive just got two new radiators and cannot for the life of me get the fan holes to line up, it sucks because ive even scuffed some paint on my brand new radiator, its like they are off by a smidge i literally have spent over an hour trying to get my fans mounted... need to take a break/breather im getting so frustrated
So i took a break, came back to see if it was just frustration that is causing it, but i really for the life of me cannot get these dang fans to mount... its like the holes are just ever so off. Using the provided screws that came with the radiator, and im using the d1225c12b5ap fans...
HOpefully a swiftech rep can respond im getting pretty pissed off at this point, dont feel i should have to drill/retap new holes....
if you're using gaskets or some kind of anti-vibration material between the fan and radiator, it's generally not a problem to only use 2 screws at opposing corners to attach each fan. I'm not sure when you step up to high-power fans if that's still the case.
Yea i now i can just use 2 screws but kind of annoying, i just took my other new mcr320 and it has no issues, i was able to mount without a problem. GUess i need to RMA/send back.
Instead of waiting for a rep to see this thread and contact you here, have you tried contacting them directly? Would seem to make the most sense.Quote:

I have sent an email to both swiftech and performancepcs, i just hope because some paint has now chipped near the screw holes they dont deny my rma, crummy waiting for parts only to have this happen oh well, swiftech has taken care of me in the past so im hoping they help me nowQuote:

It usually helps not to tighten the screws before all of them have a couple of threads in. If you've tried that already, just send an email to Michelle (michelle at swiftech) and we'll get your RMA going.

I did try that, and had my father assist to ensure it wasnt frustration causing my problems, i sent her an email im hoping i can setup an inperson RMA as im about 20 minutes from LB.Quote:

I actually didn't even notice the holes were off when I originally got it. The way I had it mounted only required 2 holes, I had it mounted on its side for 4 years (out of warranty).Quote:

I ended up bending the mounting holes and the outer casing slightly (can't see the change with your eye). I got a very long screw and with the screw threaded into the tabs, and bent them in the direction that would line it up with my holes. Mine is quite old, G3/8 holes. Maybe they stepped up their quality control. Held next to my Thermochill radiator, it really doesn't compare build wise. I don't regret buying it by any means; they're really low priced radiators for their performance. I guess you get what you pay for.Quote:

I do this to fit 80mm fans on HS designed for 77mm factory molded fans ..
Works, saves an RMA in your case and is maybe a few minutes to do..

Thanks for the input guys, i could definitely just use 2 screws to mount it, and even redrill the hole but i paid good money for a product in which i feel obligated to have one work without any mods, michelle has contacted me to setup and RMA so this should all be settled. Visually i can see the holes are off. THanks guys!
I had a drive that would not pump, and the screws would not not thread. Gabe himself worked with me to see what the issue was. I sent my drive to them, they replaced the entire unit. I chipped the crap out of it trying to get the thing to work. I even had some bent fins, they still swapped it.
Totally made up for the incident with my pump a few years back.
same goes for my mcr320qp res. 1 of the fan holes in the centre fan is off by 0.5-1mm. it's utterly annoying
I've got one here where no holes line up at all. You can get one screw, maybe two in on both sides. But, I'm just gonna pull the sides off and replace them with some I made myself. I'm already doing major surgery to it, might as well go whole hog. I'm sure I'll post pics when I get started.
