Anyone ever tried using this stuff for LN2 insulation?
I've been using liquid electrical tape. If you paint it on thick, it peels off perfectly.

The tape itself:

I was expecting a slightly kinkier result :D
I was using Performix tape.... which I love but has more than doubled in price
I was sent some Star-Brite and I hate it. Don't like its consistency, don't like how fast I get through a bottle, don't like how it eats some of the stickers on GPUs
I bought a bottle of liquid latex. It was cheap and I have dead stuff here to try it on. What's the worst that can happen?? :p:
Did you have a chance to try it out? I've also been using Liquid Electrical Tape (mostly just on video cards)
Liquid Latex FINALLY arrived.
First off- it smells ****ing TERRIBLE.
Once I dig out a brush, i'll try it on a dead card this afternoon
Goes on white, dries clearish, unless it was applied mega thick.
4 hours later ,it's still tacky.
(i'm sure plenty folk on here have used liquid latex and know exactly how it behaves, but this is new for me :)
I use liquid latex for masking purposes in painting. Many different types, but all need to be applied in multiple thin layers to cure well. A heavy coat will just produce a thin top film with liquid below it. Make sure to avoid pockets of air as you apply the material. A hair dryer on low heat can be used to decrease the set time.
Liquid nitrogen temperatures are not forgiving to many things including liquid latex. (as you already know) I fear for it getting too brittle and cracking during use. :(
Once the smell dissipates, it works pretty well as a contraceptive.
 :ROTF: :rotf: :D
Make sure that under the cpu is sealed cos this stuff will creep in under then it is there forever. I let that happen and rig would not post.
I think you can get accelerators and fillers and dyes for this but I am not sure of their electrical qualities.
There may be a case for using fillers in the above scenario ;)
Yea. While it is nice and easy to remove, it just doesn't "feel" right. I am not reassured :p: I think i'll have to call this idea a failure.
Contraceptive: no. I'm very unlikely to......hmmmmmm..... "stay interested" for 4 hours while it sets. Plus.... I don't think it'll expand safely when...... yea.

"If you have an erection for more than four hours, please stop taking Cialis/Viagra and call your doctor right away."
is it better than http://www.smooth-on.com/Platinum-Cu...129/index.html ?
That stuff is WAY too expensive for me :)
