very nice!
um... location, Jersey as in New Jersey? and if so, wherebouts?
i liked the SR-2 block!
Looks very good, especially the finish on the POM's  How did you do that?
oh wow looks nice. ive always liked those dd blocks
i was pretty sure before this thread that people in jersey didnt even know what a computer was, let alone watercooling :p:
what do you use to cut them? a 20,000$ CNC or do you have a tabletop one?
id love to get back into this stuff and make my own, i use to use CNC all the time back in school, but i just dont know where to get one for cheap.
seems the word CNC and CHEAP don't like to go hand in hand...
some are bigger than a car, others the size of an old tv, and the price between them is huge. i dont need anything too special, and the smaller one at school i cant find anywhere.
Taig system? you sure it was a cnc?
sieg x2 or sieg x3
you can buy a mill at grizzly.com from $600 to $1300 range... all seem to be the same sieg manufacturer from china...
oh sherline makes a small hobby cnc...
littlemachineshop
as you can see... i've been dreaming a bit...
In Morris County, so quit hating on Jersey ;). I used a CNC that I built in my basement (which used to be an X2 from harbor freight). Here is the link to the build.
The SR2 block I made also and the link is in my sig. The finish was obtained via bead blasting with glass beads. Also I finally got around to engraving the piece
Fresh after milling it:

(thats the oil coolant-don't get any bright ideas)
And all cleaned up:

I have yet to try it out on copper.
yeah I was looking for a waterblock in the future for my Maximus IV Extreme-Z (whatever the Z77 version is) but i didnt know if you made them. That's a sick finish on that SR-2 Block though
I don't make them, but it wouldn't take much to persuade me?
nateman, do you do this professionally?
are you open to taking custom jobs?
i'm in North Bergen County... which is just one county east of you... and many counties away from the shore :D
I take custom jobs all the time. What are you thinking about? I have a work envelope of about 11x7 until I finish building my larger machine.
nateman,
i'll get back in touch with you when i have something worthwhile.
noted your work envelope.
btw, what machine are you working with?
As for doing this "professionally"... I do not. Just do them in my basement. Self taught kind of thing.
that engraving SR-2 looks sweet.
Very nicely made. I wish there was more uk people that could do custom cnc work.
What do you need? I am making some parts for overseas customers (shipping is on you though). Shoot me an e-mail.
i sended you a pm here
All PM's replied too. Sorry for the delays - I don't get auto-notification of a PM. You best bet is to e-mail me.
