Oh, dramatic title isn't it :)
This cpu isn't the best around but it is AMD's top of the line 4 core cpu, the Phenom II X4 980.
Rig spec
- Phenom II X4 980 BE 1041EPB (very common stepping for 980)
- ASUS Crosshair III Formula @ bios 1602
- Corsair Dominator GT 1600 cl6
- In-Win Commander 1500W
- Dimastech Benchtable Easy
- F1 EE
This is my 5th Phenom II cpu and they've been clocking better for every time. First X2 550BE with lousy c2 stepping but unlocked to x3. Max clock 5 GHz on dice. Then x4 965 early c3 stepping which did 5,5Ghz on dice. Then two x2 555 three-letter cpus (1046) of which one unlocked to x4 and both did clock another 200MHz better than the 965 on air. Finally, the x4 980 BE.

I did some errors when taking screenshots, I often forgot to change to the right core in cpuz (Core #1 was the best). This one bothers me :)

I am happy with the results but very sad when I realize that this is the best amd can offer. Bulldozer... No I don't want to speak about it :( ;)
