Screws used in 7MM X-25m
Hi guys,
If any of you own a 7mm Intel X-25 or 320 SSD, could you tell me the exact type of screws they use. I need to throw my 9.5 mm model into a notebook that only supports 7mm high drives. This can be done easily enough by removing that black plastic shim, but then the screws holding the drive together are too long since they hold the shim as well.
I can't seem to find the type of screws used to hold the 7mm drive together anywhere. Intel is no help either. So if any of you know what type of screw it is, and more importantly I guess, where to get it, I would really appreciate the advice.
Thanks in advance.

I think it is an M2 machine screw. Measure the amount of thread on the screw from your SSD, then subtract the amount used by the plastic spacer, and get an M2 machine screw of that length. If it were me, I'd probably also order two more bags: the next size longer, and next size shorter than I thought I needed.
McMaster-Carr has a good selection of machine screws:

Another place with a good selection of small metric screws is laptopscrews.com. However, the one time I have ordered from them, I got some screws that had blue threadlocker on them, and they were impossible to screw in past the threadlocker. So, if you order from them, I'd check with them first whether the particular screws you are ordering will have threadlocker or not.
