P8P67 Pro bios update problem...*fixed*

Hi, my Asus board has been fine with the 0402 BIOs that it shipped with and I've been running 4.5GHz @ 1.29v just fine but with any new BIOs, I can only boot up in stock/auto mode.

0804:For some reason, when I flash to 0804 and start up, it's fine. But when I change anything to my desired settings (overclocking), the computer doesn't actually do it and instead uses OC Tuner as it turns off and on until the result is always 103 x 34. That's all that BIOs does for me. I had to clear CMOs and change BIOs.

new 1053 BIOs: This doesn't even work as 0804 actually let me boot up with the crappy OC Tuner settings...the computer will boot with stock settings (nothing changed in BIOs) but if I change anything in BIOs to overclock with (i.e. raising voltage or multi), the computer won't boot. It goes into a continuous loop at start up. All I see on the board are the LEDs flashing in the sequence and ending. The red LEDs go from graphics->RAM-> CPU ->graphics -> RAM -> CPU and computer turns off when it reaches CPU a second time immediately. It then turns off and turns on -> repeat the loop above to no end. Nothing ever comes up on screen. It's frustrating to have to clear CMOs every time to boot trying to diagnose the problem.

Is there any setting in BIOs that could be triggering this problem?

try to swap/ change mem sticks and boot just with 1 stick at a time BTW I m not hapy with this board as well- still the "48-49" multi bug

ASUS looks fine , but seems to be crappy...

Does the bug still exist with the new 1053 BIOs?

Could it really be my RAM sticks? I'm back to the stock BIOs and it's running just fine OCed.

I know this isn't a fix, but when you get into that loop, just unplug the PSU until the lights on the board go out, or turn the switch off on the back, and then it should start up OK. If it doesn't, then I think you may have other troubles.

I'm using the 1053 on the Deluxe and I've had similar issues to what you describe, but the power off does the trick to get out of the loop and avoid a CMOS clear.

1003 is essentially 0804 for me. I set it to manual but it seems the system decides it wants to use OC Tuner (it raises bclk to 103 which is what happens when I use OC Tuner in 0402) and OCs me to 4.4GHz, enables C1E, and makes voltage auto although all I did was choose 42x100.

EDIT: Thought what the heck. Downloaded 1053 for the 3rd time and tried it...I have turned my computer on and off and no more loop. Weird but yay!!!
