Windows Soft RAID-0

Hey all. I want to gather some information on Soft RAID so that I could test my SSDs in this mode.

What I'd like to know:
1. Can the dynamic volume be set with offset? It seems we can only set a starting offset for the primary partition.
2. Can we specify the stripe size? In "create volume stripe size=xxx" command, "size=xxx" simply means amount of disk space in megabytes...

i personally use the disk manager to do this.

Cool, I was going to do this myself at some stage, so I'm looking forward to seeing how this thread develops. Will you try out Raid 0 & Raid 1 performance? By all accounts you can get Raid 1 to boot and it would be interesting to see how that performs.

Will test R1 and post back.

Here's quick SB850 hybrid 2R0 vs Windows 7 softraid. Note that Dynamic volume is not aligned (31K - bad in ASSSD). I also don't know yet what is the default stripe size with dynamic windows stripe.

From the results you can see that Phenom II X4 outperforms SB850 in ATTO small file writes. I bet if Dynamic volume was aligned and stripe size set to 256K, soft raid would fly.
